Title: Ollie first conjunctivitis, now his neck and jaw are swollen!
Post by: Lesley Frankie on October 15, 2007, 17:13:46 PM
I noticed Ollies neck looked a little swollen earlier this afternoon but had to take Basil to the vet so could not give him a good look. Now I have had a better look at Ollie and sure enough, the side of his neck is quite swollen,. I can't feel a lump and he doesn't seem to be bothered but it is definately more swollen than earlier. He has not been outside since he joined us and I'm not aware that he and Basil have fought. He is getting antibiotic drops for his eyes and I now have antibiotic pills as well - he's just had one. I have made an appointment to see the vet tomorrow late afternoon. I hope he's ok. :scared:

Ollie had to stay overnight at the vet's last night because they wanted to sedate him to explore the swelling. He is now home and we have to wait for the results of the biopsy. They think it may just be an infection so he's got all sorts of pills to take. Poor little soul, I felt awful at leaving him because he has only just been with us for less than 2 weeks. He must have thought he was abandoned again! :(

poor Ollie! Good luck and hope the antibiotics work asap. I'm sure he'll do better at home too.

I do hope its an infection and that he gets better quickly

He will feel more happy at home again I am sure but at least you didnt have to starve him and he was safe all night, so he wont blame you  ;D
