The last week I have noticed Ging isn't eating as much as he used to.
A month ago he had bloods taken and they came back "good for his age" so the vet said and there wasn't any cause for conern.
I am not too worried but this morning he had 2 mouthfulls of dried JWB and just now had a pouch and ate just over half of it,where as usually he eats it all and of a night time he'll just have a couple of mouthfulls of JWB again,he has been indoors more as its getting colder but in the past I have always noticed my cats eating more in winter than in summer.
Would you be worried if your cat wasn't eating "as much" or could I just put it down to his old age? he'll be 18 in december.
As I type this I am eating a tuna sandwich and he is clawing me for some tuna, what shall I do? :innocent:

I wouldn't be too worried .. as long as he is eating something and drinking then I'm sure he'll be OK. As cats get older they slow down and need less food. As Ging is 18 I would say if your boy wants a Tuna sandwich then let him have a tuna sandwich ;)

Well he's just managed to eat a full tray of sheba salmon tray so I am a bit happier today,I am not too keen on feeding them a lot of fish because of risk of any crystals but my boys just adore anything fish cat food much more than the meat ones :shy:

I think at 18yrs old when the bodys slowing down and smell and taste probably arent as good either you should let Ging have the things he likes tha best ;D

I think it is normal for their appetites to decrease with age, and especially when they become less active.

Wow he sounds as if he is doing very well for his age. :wow:
