My mum has just called up to say that her neighbour has had to put one of her 2 cats to sleep :'(
Gin had not been very well for a while, and the vets had tried everything, he was suffering from a viral infection and was aged 13.
I know my mum said she saw him yesterday and that he had lost a lot of weight, and was swaying as he walked - it brought a tear to my eye as it reminded me exactly as to how my Suki went before we had to make that decision.
Gin was taken in the vets this morning and put on a drip, but they called Nancie (owner) saying they needed her quick, as they said there was nothing else they could do, so she made the hardest decision - but the right one. They put the stuff into his drip so he didnt have to have a needle go in him, and he drifted off quite peacefully.
I've known Gin all my life too so I'm quite sad even though it's not my own cat.
I'm sure that my cat Suki is up there saying hello on Rainbow Bridge and will chase butterflys with him.

:'( RIP Gin ... you will have lots of friends at the bridge little one. Play hard until it's time to meet your family again.

He'll be playing with his daddy who he lost about 4 years ago - I'm sure they're having fun together again.
