I want one too !!  ;D

I read somewhere that cats have different sounds to communicate different things. For example Suzie has distictily different "miaows" for different situations, she has her "hello, how's it going?" type miaow, her "come to bed, I want a cuddle" miaow and her 1/2/3/4/5/6 o'clock in the morning "I want a stoke" miaow. Frankie and Alfie each have their own sets of noises for different situations particularly Frankie who makes all sort of noises a lot of which I've learned the meaning of, he's even got a special noise for "move over I want more of the settee"  ;D ;D. I liked the bit on the web page about cats presumably having to miaow in Japanese to be recognised by the device, where can I buy a Linguaphone course in Japanese cat noises for my puds ? or maybe the OU has something on TV at 2 o'clock in the morning like "Cat Japanese for begginers" that I can record for them ?!.  ;D. I'd  better setup the DVD recorder as Frankie and Alfie are useless at that and keep forgetting to record things for me however they do seem to record a lot of adverts for cat food accidentally on purpose ;D.

every cat makes different noises for different reasons. Smidgen has a really loud spoilt kitten being thwarted noise which is unmistakeable. Esther just makes a lot of noise for no apparent reason at times. Still getting to know her vocabulary. If you know so little about your cats that you need a translator you are not doing your job as a slave ... ;)

One has to remember that these originate from the nation that,  apart from other things, gave the world such classics as Suchi, the Tamagotchi Egg and the gameshow "Endurance" so maybe they haven't got a lot of free time left to study their cats language :)

I agree that they do definitely have their own sounds for different things, I am still learning which is which.

As Doc and Gerti eat Cheese's food I tend to try and feed her hers on the sly, but she gives it away with her "food!" meow that makes the others come running
