When Blip had her Old Friends check-up this week, the practice gave me samples of Royal Canin Mature Weight & Kidney, dried and wet. Somewhat to my surprise, Blip has taken to them both eagerly (she doesnt eat much dried food, but I leave it down during the day and she will chomp one or two kibbles). So I might look at getting some supplies in.
Is Zooplus one of the sites that you can click through from rescues? I havent used it before.
-
I put this in the middle of another thread, which was a bit daft really
Anyway, any rescues out there that would benefit from my purchases?
:thanks:
-
I don't think rescues can benefit from zooplus purchases, Christine, but vet uk sell royal canin and they do so check them out.
-
:thanks: Susanne.
I checked out Vet UK and it has the dried food at about 25% cheaper than our vet. It doesnt have the pouches of wet though - I will check out the Royal Canin website for stockists.
Edited to add that the website proved a little difficult to navigate and I couldnt even find Mature Weight & Kidney listed :tired: Does anyone happen to know of any online stockists for the pouches of wet food?

Hiya, this probably isn't madly helpful but there's a chemist chain called "Manor Pharmacy" in the Derbyshire area. They stock Royal Canin vet food. I bought Renal from them at £24 for 48 pouches. That's probably a good guide as to cost. They have a website under construction from where they'll be doing mail order soon. They also said I can buy direct from a website in the mean time but handily I can't remember the name. It's similar to vetuk.com but I'm sure it's not them. I'll find out next time I go in. Sorry I'm useless!

You could try
http://www.bestpet.co.uk/search_results.asp?sec=117&category=Royal_Canin_Veterinary_Diet_&_Vet_Early_Care
there's wet and dry on there. That's not the site I meant before but I have used them and they've been fine. Long while back now though.

Ah, just over £20 for 48 pouches. I shall check what our vet charges but I bet it is more :thanks:
-
The problem with getting dry food through Vet UK is that while it is cheaper than the vets, you have to pay P & P on it, last time I looked into it, it pretty much wiped out the discount, and their was the hassle of having to be in to accept the delivery.

£4.95 upto 28kg so if you bought alot it wouldnt add too much onto the price per bag

Yes, our vet does charge more, but only a couple of pounds and, as delivery from Bestpet is £4.95, I am actually better off buying the wet pouches at the vet. Pity my purchases wont help rescues though.
