As promised details of Larry...hopefully something can be done.

Larry has been in the care of Croydon Council for just coming up a month since being picked up as a stray.

He is a Lab cross Rhodesian Ridgeback (we think!) and is about 9 months old.

He is a bouncy chap and needs a rescue place asap.

He is ok with some dogs, but not others, although castration will help this I have no doubt.

He is very good with people although does need some strict training. His last owner obviously didn't bother.

When he arrived with us he had a terrible flea allergy, but his little visitors were immediately eradicated by us and he is now fine.

Larry is not vaccinated and not microchipped.

If a rescue further afield can help, we can try and arrange for transport.

Battersea Dogs Home will take him.  :tired:

I really can't understand why people don't consider Battersea as a first port of call. They are brilliant and have a proven track record. I've seen several appeals for help like this and no one thinks about them.  :innocent:

This is really good news but what I do not understand is why Larry was on death row in the first place - what has he done??

He is a beautiful looking dog.

Larry is indeed now safe but help is needed in transporting him if anyone can help.......Email received today:

SWAP TEAM APPEALING FOR HELP WITH TRANSPORT OF EX-DEATH ROW DOGS NOW BEING SAVED

SWAP TEAM HAVE RECENTLY DONE SEVERAL APPEALS FOR DOGS ON DEATH ROW THAT HAVE NOW BEEN OFFERED SECURE PLACES IN RESCUE CENTRES. WE HAVE RECEIVED A CALL TODAY TO ASK US IF WE WOULD PUT OUT A FURTHER APPEAL TO HELP WITH TRANSPORTING THESE DOGS AS CURRENT TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS HAVE FALLEN THROUGH.

LARRY A RHODESIAN RIDGEBACK CROSS NEEDS TO BE TRANSPORTED THIS SATURDAY 29TH SEPT FROM KENNELS IN SURREY TO A RESCUE CENTRE IN OXFORDSHIRE TO BE ARRIVING AT ABOUT 1PM. PLEASE ALSO BRING SOME WATER FOR LARRY AND A LEASH IN CASE YOU HAVE TO STOP WHEN NATURE CALLS.

WHOEVER TRANSPORTS LARRY WILL NEED A LARGE DOG CRATE AS HE IS A BIG DOG AND CAN BE QUITE EXCITABLE (BLESS HIM) SO AN ESTATE CAR OR VAN WOULD BE IDEAL.

NEXT WEEKEND (6TH/7TH OCTOBER) JOHNNY AND ORLANDO THE TWO STAFFIES WILL ALSO NEED TO BE TRANSPORTED FROM AND TO THE SAME LOCATIONS (time to be confirmed). AGAIN A CRATE WILL BE NEEDED TO HOUSE THESE DOGS AS AGAIN THEY ARE EXCITABLE. THEY CAN BE TRANSPORTED TOGETHER SO A CRATE LARGE ENOUGH FOR TWO STAFFIES WILL BE REQUIRED. PLEASE ALSO BRING SOME WATER FOR THESE DOGS AND LEASHES IN CASE YOU HAVE TO STOP WHEN NATURE CALLS.
PLEASE CONTACT EMMA ASAP ON 07973 569371 AND/OR EMAIL adrs@aol.com if you can help. Please leave a message on Emma's answerphone with your contact number if you are unable to get hold of her and she will call you back asap.
MANY THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT
SWAP TEAM
