I had a lady ring last Fri, she sadly had to have her cat pts on the Thurs, and asked at the vets for people with kittens, who immediately gave out my number!! She is going to ring me at some point this week when she feels more able to consider another cat. I have her number too, so am going to give her till Thurs before ringing her.
EArlier, I had a call from a lady wanting an adult cat, have suggested both Bella and Lucy, she didn't want another black cat as she has just lost one, and sounds ideal for Lucy, she had a chat with her husband, and rang back saying 'we will take whichever will be the hardest to rehome' - I love people who say that to me!! I personally think Lucy will be, but we haven't started to advertise Bella yet, as her stitches dont come out till a week on Tues. She is going to come on Fri and look at them both, I dont like pushing people towards one cat, and couldnt really say much as I was put on the spot.
If she takes Lucy, I have already filled the gap of a long termer foster, just got to wait until I get back off my hol on the 10th October. ACtually, i am torn between 2 (both oldies!!) and am tempted to take them both, and have 4 long termers, as i have no more trips booked this year.

Hope it goes well ;D
-
Fingers firmly crossed Des, keep us posted!

I will keep my fingers crossed. keep us all posted. have a lovely holiday to

They are some of my favourite words,, mind you I think I have posted that before. unfortunately I do not here them very often.

Great news Des....im keeping my fingers crossed for you ;)

I'm hopefully getting up to the rescue this weekend to finally get back on track as I haven't been much use over recent months. After speaking to the rescue we've decided to put feelers out for Purrcy getting a home, not that we don't want him, just that if he can get rehomed we need to give him a chance (he's a long termer potentially) hopefully then I'll be useful in fostering again, although I do have a possible space still.................
Hoping that one of them goes I'd be inclined to go for Lucy myself as she's been with us a long time and I think she deserves her chance now.
-
Hi Desley I have everything crossed here :)
Have a great holiday :)
Where are you heading off to?
-
Good to hear from you KElly, if you want me to put him on the CC page, let me know. Dont know if it was mentioned, but Crystal is now being put up for rehoming too. I would prefer Lucy to go, but dont want to push people just because she is the hardest to home, i dont think it is fair if they aren't going to get on, but I haven't found anyone yet that Lucy doesnt' get on with!!
Ellie - going to Koz for a week, can't wait.
-
Good luck with the rehoming, Desley. ;D

Well, the lady who lost her cat last week has said it is too soon for another, which is understandable. I do have someone ringing back tonight about kittens, not too sure about her though, but will see.
Lucy has her weigh in tonight, I might ring the people who are looking at her to make sure they will turn up!!
-
Oh I hope Lucy gets her chance and has lost some weight!!!!!!
I'll get something together for Purrcy and email it across soon :thanks:
-
Have a great holiday Des you deserve it
Tx

Lucy has lost 100g, I rang the people who are coming tonight to check they were still coming and to say I thought Lucy might be better, Bella has been a bit skittish, and they said they expected to 'choose' Lucy out of the two anyway!! So, fingers crossed they all like each other tonight, I can't see Lucy having any probs with their children, I actually forgot she had lived with Ben as well as her original owners children.
-
Hope it goes well ;D
-
:cheer: 100g :wow: Good Luck Lucy hopefully you will be in your forever home soon ;)

Lucy is in her new home, she was fine with the children, I think she is the right temperament for them, and she had been sat half on my knee while we were waiting for them, so should enjoy having 4 people to sit with!! They were confident at being able to get her weight down, which is good.
I have until next Sat to find the kittens homes, or they have to go back to the rescue while I go on my hols, someone I work with might want one of them, she is going to think about it over the weekend (and I did drop hints that 2 are less work than 1!!).
IT is a shame I am going away in 10 days though, am 'replacing' Lucy with 2 oldies, 1 from the rescue I foster for, she is an 11 year old pure white, who I have wanted a while, but had others that didn't have a place, but she is now looking in poor condition, so we are hoping a home life with me will help, if not, and it is due to illness, at least she will have a loving home. The other rescue I help fundraise for told me about a month ago of 2 oldies they had that they were struggling to find a home for, so I rang them last night, and asked if they would consider me as a fosterer for one of them (Sadly the other one died unexpectedly), she has a liver prob, and isn't that keen on other cats - but lets face it, Molly adn Tiger dont, but they all seem to get on here, I find oldies are better at finding their own space away from others than the youngsters, it is like they are so grateful for the home that they just get on with it, and eventually thought of asking the colour - she is a tortie, the one colour I would never choose to own!! Oh well, she needs a home environment, and that is what she will get, both will be long term fosters until I Can afford to adopt one of them.

Last pic of Lucy

I have been given the OK by the other rescue to foster for them, the 'little' girl in question is called Zia, and is 16+, so the oldest cat I have looked after. She is having a vet check between now and me picking her up, so that is good, and she will be advertised, although we are expecting her to live her life out here, as she also has liver problems.
-
Good work ;D and I hope you have a wonderful holiday.
-
I love Lucy ;D
She is a ummmmm podgier version of Sasa   I do hope she will be happy in her new home.
Have a great holiday and hope that the oldies will settle in with you and I am sure it will be a great home ;D
-
Lucy is lovely, I will miss her. I am sure she will be happy.
I can't wait for my hol now, these kittens are hard work!! Part of me cant wait for it to be over for the new cats to come though!! I am sure they will settle in and appreciate the home!!

Have spoken to Lucy's new owners today, they are thrilled by how quickly she has settled in, they didn't expect it!! And either her first or second morning, their eldest wrote her a note to say how much he loved her, they have said he is besotted with her (and knowing Lucy, she will be loving the attention!!), so I am really pleased that we dont have a set rule with children, as he would have missed out otherwise. She is getting lots of fuss in the evening from the parents too, which is good - Lucy loved her fusses, but I mainly focused on her playing due to time constraints, so she has gone somewhere that has more time for her, and am sure she will love her new home.
WE have also homed the 11year old I was supposed to be taking next today, so potentially only one long termer to look forward to when I Get back - as much as I would have loved her, I am glad she has a home. We do have 2 other oldies in at the moment, but will see what is still here when I get back, we might have something else that needs me by then!!
-
Thats just wonderful news ;D

It is!!

Aw, that is such good news :Luv:

I am very pleased that she is doing so well in her new home, and that they love her so much. It wasn't an easy decision putting her up for rehoming as early as I did, as she should have been here till she lost more weight, but she was struggling to do that here, and it was better for her to go somewhere where they had more time than me.

Great news Des....Im so glad that everything is going well with Lucy :Luv:

Good News ....So pleased everyone is besotted with Lucy :yayyy:
