What do I need the Breeder to give me when I go pick up Leo ?
Do Breeders normally give out the vaccination paperwork & vet check paperwork, Pedigree paperwork etc etc ?
Sorry first time Pedigree owner !
Really appreciate everyones help

When I get home I'll check Mosi's paperwork as I have everything still in a folder.
Yes you should get his vaccination paperwork to prove he's had his vaccinations.
You'll also get his pedigree and the GCCF registration transfer of ownership slip (pink slip which the breeder signs. You will have to fill out your details and send it off to the GCCF with a fee of something like £16 to get the ownership details changed to you).
Lots of breeders give 6 weeks free pet insurance with petplan - that's something they activate on the day you collect the kitten and give you a slip with the details.
There will also be a contract of sale that you and they sign which also covers things like neutering.
Most breeders will also give some food and litter that the kitten is already using.

Excellent info as always honny ! Thanks

When we got the Benglies, we got the vacination cards, registration papers - Raffiki is registered with Ticca and Mellika with GCCF, the breeder registerd them in our names for us, and their pedigree papers and we had to sign a contract, we also got the 6 weeks free insurance some breeders dont give out the papers until the new owner provides proof of neutering/spaying. We also got toys, food and cat litter.

Some breeders also give blankets, I've read one that makes her own and is allocated one to each kitten.
Which is very sweet ;)
All breeders to bits differently but Susanne gave you what you should get.
Yes I randomly read breeder websites, some keep blogs on the kittens development which is just amazing to read.

A lot of breeders now will only give you the contract, vaccination and microchip stuff until they receive proof of neutering from your vet. This is just to make sure that pet quality kittens are not being bred from.
If you get all the paperwork you should come home with:
Contract
Kitten Care Sheet
Receipt
Pedigree
Microchip documents
Certificate of neutering/spaying (for your vet to fill in and you then send it back to them once the kitten has been neutered- not all breeders do this)
Registration documents (if kitten is registered with FIFe this will all be on the certified pedigree)
6 weeks Petplan Insurance paperwork (not all breeders do this)
Vet Health Certificate (not all breeders do this)
Kitten Pack (contents vary depending on the breeder but food, booklets, bowls, various toys, blanket, bag of litter etc)

Thanks everyone thats great .. I know he wont be chipped although she said she would charge £10 if I wanted him done which is pretty good. Even though he will be indoor cat it would still be good to know he has that to identify him if he was ever lost.
Breeder mentioned something about giving me some dry food which he is on at moment. Just wanted to check Paper work side of things as Im a dumbo !

Its not only a good way of identification as it also proves your ownership ;)

Have just emailed her to request she chips him.. Does it hurt them ? I used to work at Kennel Club & saw dogs being done all the while.. they had a little yelp & I always felt bad for them !

I think everything's been covered, but this is what I got with Mosi
Pedigree - make sure it's signed and shows at least 3 generations (this will usually be printed out on a piece of card or something)
Registration documents and slip for transfer of ownership if necessary
Receipt for payment
Agreement signed and dated (this should specify things such as not using the kitten for breeding, to neuter the kitten etc)
GCCF documents re 'Code of Ethics for breeders and owners' and 'Caring for your kitten'
Separate care sheet from the breeder, this includes a bit about calling them with any problems and having the kitten back if will not settle
petplan cover note
vet documents showing dates of vaccinations
food
litter
toy
and a kitten!

I have had most of mine done without an anisetic and they didnt even flinch

I got everything listed below when i picked up the codster, although his breeder didnt do a contract nor am i sure if she does a certificate of neutering thingy (cody was already neutered so i didnt have that to worry about)

None of my cats were bothered at all by being 'chipped. They made more of a fuss about the thermometer up the bum!
-
would that involve biting cats? I'm not allowed to bite cats ........ :-[
-
Nah we leave the cats alone, all felines rock :)
Maybe need to target the hwmans but do not know how,we cannot eat all their chocolate or we will get poisoned so we need to target the next thing they prefer,we think its clothes,do you agree? Maybe we need to raid wardrobes and rip all their clothes up and leave doggy fur all over them :evillaugh:
But you and Cuddles would have to take the blame because I look far too cute for them to blame me right? :)
-
I can be pretty cute too, you know!
-
Will these dogs please leave the cat area!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
