I took a call from this grockel of a woman on the CP line today.
One of the other local rescues (independent) had, but the sound of it, set up a direct rehoming to this woman and have now washed their hands of it. This woman lives in sheltered accomodation and isn't supposed to have pets. She thought she could keep it's existance quiet. :tired:
Anyway, she's going on 'holiday' this rubby Sunday and can't afford to provide for the care of this cat. And it's not vaccinated so the catteries won't touch it either! :shy: I quizzed her about how much thought she'd given taking on an elderly cat with special needs and she says "If it needs a vet, there's a PDSA clinic once a week", which is pretty rough if the cat gets sick the day after, isn't it.... :mad2:
I suggested a cat sitter to come in and feed and she said she'd been offered £60 for 12 days, which I thought was reasonable and she said "But it makes it an expensive holday.."
What can you do when you're up against :censored: like her!!

She's waiting for a response from me. I need to check with our team and see if we've got room and where we can put it. I'm hoping we can take it in and she's obviously not going to care for it well enough, even if she does get holiday care.
Some people think animals are no more then fluffy orniments, and at her age she should have really thought it through... >:(

At times like this I'm glad that I live way north of you...
Otherwise every room of my house would have a cat in it or three.

totally off topic but I had a call from someone in a 6th floor flat. It began all right - talking about indoor cats. Then it went on to she was scared it would jump off the balcony...... and I talked of ca proofing her balcony..... then she said ' my balcony joins on to my neighbours - will I have to cat proof theirs?'...... I sorta lost interest.........

I just heard this woman was on to our rehoming line at 8.10am this morning as well! :Crazy: She threatened PTS and Sharon has really got the hump with her. I have too, now! >:(
We are still debating about what to do, we're all sooooo cross about the whole thing! :boxer:

That's just wrong.
I really hate when folks threaten to do that to a healthy animal.

Hang on a min if she isn't meant to have the cat anyway then the land lord should be informed and tell him/ her you will take the cat on. This person doesn't deserve to have a cat if she treats it like that :censored:

We've decided we're going to put pressure on the rescue that vetted her in the first place. This rescue has a habit of bodging and legging and they really should sort this one... But I dare say we'll be here as a safety net. :tired:

She is welcome to come and stay at mine if you need a space. The woman should not be permitted to have her back, and if the landlord knows she will not be allowed. :evillaugh:

That's very kind of you, blackcat. :blow kiss: I think we've resolved this one now. As with every story like this, it takes ages and ages to get to the truth and mostly I give up.
It seems this lady was only 'minding' this cat while it's real owners are away and the fostering was arranged by the other rescue. But the true owner then wasn't answering messages on the agreed date, and the woman then panicked because she thought her week in Spain was going up the swannie... :sigh:
The real owner is now back on the scene and will be collecting the cat soon.
None of which excuses her wasting my day with her lies and my phone bill, and those awful, awful threats... :mad2:

I dont believe that Pinkbear! That women was a real pain. Every thing i said to her she refused and the PTS bit insenses me no end.. And it was only 8.30am... She obviously told us all a pack of lies.. ! All the more reason for anybody answering the main phone line to have a good head on their shoulders and not take a inch worth of nonense, that we get all the time.. Some people amaze me on their stories. I have ahd one lady that spoke to four different people within our branch and gave them all a different story. it was a good job we all stick to our guns and never promise anything until we have checked things out..
This women was a right silly mo! I am not sure she will even find her way to the airport about get out of her front door.

What a sad story, I am glad it has a happy ending though, and I hate people who use emotional blackmail.

What a horriable women.She shouldn't be a fosterer if thats the way she treats cats.
