How old do cats need to be to be microchipped? (Possibly a daft question!)

They can be done as kittens at the same time as the first jabs (9 weeks).  I chose to wait until the boys were under GA being neutered but lots of people have them done when they're kittens, most pedigree cats will leave Mum for their new homes already microchipped.

My vet suggested waiting until Smidgen was under GA for his op. So two kitties indoors for the next month or so longer...

Thanks. My cousin lives fairly locally to Sheffield, so I thought I'd mention it to her for Ember and Indie. :)
