I need more advice please...
My cat is currently fast asleep next to me and he is dreaming as his legs and whiskers are twitching away. the only problem is his eyes keep opening, exposing that third eyelid thingy and I can see his eyeballs rolling around behind it!!! Whats that??? Is he ok? He looks weird...
I gently woke him up and he gave a little purr, a stretch and fell back asleep. His eyes are properly shut now but should that have happened?

Personally I have not seen that sort of thing, you could always ring your vet tomorrow and have a word to see is this is purrfectly normal in some cats.

Just dreaming! Zephyr used to do it alot as a kitten he also used to make funny little twittering noises. He would quiet often be asleep with his eyes half open/closed.

He's just dreaming - it's nothing to worry about, humans do it too sometimes. :Luv:

Yep, used to scare me too! One of my bunch sleeps with her eyes open sometimes.....that's really unnerving! He's dreaming. :)

Yep, seen one of mine do this when dreaming too - as others have said, can be quite unnerving

Sometimes it's very freaky, my boy grinds his teeth and looks like he is going to leap out of his own fur whe he dreams like that, it's funny.

:scared: Phew thanks guys, I thought I had a possessed cat. As long as his head doesnt spin 360 degrees I wont panic.

Cats like humans go through 2 different cycles of sleep
Deep sleep
REM sleep (rapid eye movement)
The rem cycle is when we dream (and hopefuly cats too!) Twitching can occur and usually the eyelids flicker or blink.
This is perfectly normal
