This is Xanthe, who is 11 weeks, and our new baby! I have only retained a confused impression of a huge mound of fur from seeing adult Maine Coons, and wondered whether she will grow into her feet in time or if they stay quite big in proportion to the rest of the cat? I realise as a potentially big cat she will have big feet as a baby, but can't work out what happens later!
-
Not sure if she will grow into her feet but let's hope she grows into her ears!!!!  "Batfink"
-
awww :Luv: wot a cutie ;D she's gorgeous!

Ah love her little heart, she is cute :Luv:
I love it when they are little and their eyes are huge
She will be a lovely cat, Maine Coons are very loving
-
She is an adorable bundle of fluffiness !
I too get my little boy on 22nd - he will be 12 weeks.
I saw the parents & genrally they do have HUGE paws.. but then they are giant cats so in proportion !
how long have you had her ? :Luv:

Totally Ditto!
She is beautiful :Luv:

I know, her ears are huge! They keep flipping inside out which looks even funnier! We've had her since she was 9 weeks, she has settled in really well.

I love maine coons! we had a similar thing with Tilly's eyes (shes bengal) they were massive and I never thought she would grow into them!! How did you manage to get a 9 week old kitten, I thought breeders guarded them with their lives until 13 weeks!!!
-
Thats what I thought ? Leo isnt ready untill 22nd, had to wait for him to have all his jabs
-
Breeder reckoned they bond better and settle better at 9 weeks - I know they normally stay until 13 weeks but wasn't going to argue! She does seem to have settled well so maybe breeder had a point.
-
I did get lots of instructions about next steps for jabs, chipping, neutering etc.
-
Wish I could of got Leo early !!!
-
I would have loved to get Tilly sooner but wasn't allowed, she was 14 weeks in the end and I did feel like I had missed bonding time
-
She will grow into her feet, but will probably always have big, fluffy feet ;D
Who is she registered with? If it's GCCF then the breeder was wrong to let her go unvaccinated and at 9 weeks. Registration with the GCCF is conditional on accepting their code of ethics which recommends that kittens should not be sold at less than 13 weeks and should be fully vaccinated. Breeders have been suspended for selling unvaccinated, under age kittens. They settle and bond just fine at 13 weeks. Mosi was 14 weeks when I got him and he's a right little lovebug.
-
Our Bengals were 13 1/2 weeks when we picked them up and Im glad becuase they were vaccinated etc, the breeder we got them from wont let them go before 2nd vaccination - one of the reasons being incase they have any bad reactions to the jabs. We visited them every week, sometimes twice a week from when they were 8 weeks old, so when they canme home they already knw us.
-
Meant to say that our Coonie, Roxy is nearly 18 and has still got Huge feet.
-
that's what our breeder said as well about the bad reaction to injections didn't realise it was an actual GCCF rule although the breeder did give me a copy I didn't get around to reading them! i first saw Tilly when she was 12 weeks so missed the really tiny stage but I do have photos of her from a couple of weeks the breeder gave me
-
Breeder registered with Cat Fanciers Association and International Cat Association - our previous cat we got at about 13 weeks and he did bond and settle well. She had some pretty strong ideas about child rearing too, but obviously loved / cared for the cats well. I was following her advice - don't know whether right or wrong.
-
More pics please !!!
-
A couple more pics then! Lisa - just saw your cutie earlier too. Can't wait to see more of him - I bet you are so excited about him arriving! You have got me thinking about the whole walkies thing again now.
