Title: Tom "raping" my mums neutered cat.
Post by: Mark on September 03, 2007, 22:25:48 PM
My mum said there is a local tom that keeps going after her neutered cat. She said he has even made her bleed. Is this possible?  She is buying a water pistol to try to scare him off.

I've just looked it up and apparantly it does happen! I'd never heard of that happening before now.

I think it needs more than a water pistol.  Can she catch him and get him done!

I don't think my mum can catch a cold. She can't risk getting scratched as she had a mastectomy a few years ago. Something to do with lymph nodes being removed. I wonder if a local rescue would help? - She is in Basildon.

Does your mum know if the offending tom cat has a home or is a stray?

Poor Shelley (I take it that Shelley is your mum's cat?)

I doubt if she knows who it belongs to. Basildon is one of those places that you don't go knocking on strangers doors  :scared:

I don't know why she moved to such a horrible area when she had a nice little retirement bungalow by the sea with nice neighbours  :(

Do you want to borrow the metal trap, Mark? If we looked up who the local CP is and get a voucher off them, you could have this Tom and sorted in no time.

It's worth serious consideration because if he's making your mum's cat bleed, he could also be infecting her with FIV.  :-[

Thanks pinkbear but I haven't got time to go over my mums at the moment let alone get into trapping cats. I will get her to phone the CP (where she got the cat from) and see if they can help.
