He should be having his baby tooth out about now. He waited until they carried him off before mewing pitifully, just to make me feel more guilty than i did. :(
He will be pleased with tonights roast chicken tho ;D
-
Ah bless him.
I am sure it will all go ok, try not to worry yourself too much today
Hope you have asked for the tooth back !! Spike will need to leave it out for the tooth fairy tonight hehe
-
Bless :) I'm sure he'll be just fine, how come he has to have his baby tooth out though?
-
Good luck to Spike ;D
-
I didnt think to ask to have the tooth back  i have one of his sisters tho.
Helen, he has a retained canine, they can cause bite problems so needs to come out (its been there ages tho as he is 15months old).
This pic is similar to what he has

Aaah I see, I didn't really 'get' what would happen when the boys were teething and was getting worried as they had double fangs but they dropped out leaving just the big fang! Give Spike a gentle healing head kiss from the boys when he gets back home.
-
The main problem that will cause as you can see in that pic the food gets trapped between the two and can cause damage to the adult one.
It will take about 1 min to remove though and he will be fine tonight ;D
(quite unusual in cats but "yawn" all too common in dogs )
-
he has a retained canine,
Its just not right calling cats teeth canines :evillaugh:
Hope he wallows in the attention and treats tonight :Luv:
-
Hes certainly wallowing, i got him out the basket and had to put him back as he went wobble flop into the doorframe :(
Iv put towels over my bedroom floor and hes chilling out in there.
£38 so pleased with that ;D
-
Spike said all the more to spend on treats :evillaugh:
PS - glad I saw this again before I go out (CP meeting) as it reminded me to put the hedgehog food out before I go :evillaugh:
-
I'm glad he's back home and being pampered ;D
-
Aw, give him a little tummy tickle from me :Luv:
-
He's had some lap time and forced down some chicken and is walking alot better now. The VN said that bigger cats seem to take longer to get over the effects of a GA, i didnt ask why, does anyone know?
I gave him a chin tickle clare, as he isnt just spikey by name he is spikey by nature :evillaugh:
-
I dont know but at a guess, cos they need more anesthetic cos of their size?
Son pleased he is home and chillin ;D
-
Thats what i thought at first but they get the same amount of drugs for their bodyweight as a smaller cat would. They must be drama queens!
I just looked at the break down and he was sedated not anaesthetised so i guess thats why i noticed a difference in his come round. The others were all rapinovet'd for their procedures. Lynn??
-
So glad that Spike is recovering well, I sympathise with him because I Hate dentists
Big hugs for Spike xxx
-
I have a vague recollection of drugs etc staying in fat longer so maybe thats why larger cats take longer to excrete them
-
Thanks Mark ;D Spike says he aint no fatty he is just big boned :evillaugh:
-
So glad all went well at the vets and that Spike is being thourghly pampered. :evillaugh:
