Title: Spikes at the vets
Post by: Millys Mum on September 03, 2007, 11:38:22 AM
He should be having his baby tooth out about now. He waited until they carried him off before mewing pitifully, just to make me feel more guilty than i did.  :(

He will be pleased with tonights roast chicken tho  ;D

I didnt think to ask to have the tooth back  i have one of his sisters tho.

Helen, he has a retained canine, they can cause bite problems so needs to come out (its been there ages tho as he is 15months old).
This pic is similar to what he has

Aaah I see, I didn't really 'get' what would happen when the boys were teething and was getting worried as they had double fangs but they dropped out leaving just the big fang!  Give Spike a gentle healing head kiss from the boys when he gets back home.

The main problem that will cause as you can see in that pic the food gets trapped between the two and can cause damage to the adult one.

It will take about 1 min to remove though and he will be fine tonight  ;D

(quite unusual in cats but "yawn" all too common in dogs )

Spike said all the more to spend on treats  :evillaugh:

PS - glad I saw this again before I go out (CP meeting) as it reminded me to put the hedgehog food out before I go  :evillaugh:

He's had some lap time and forced down some chicken and is walking alot better now. The VN said that bigger cats seem to take longer to get over the effects of a GA, i didnt ask why, does anyone know?

I gave him a chin tickle clare, as he isnt just spikey by name he is spikey by nature  :evillaugh:

Thats what i thought at first but they get the same amount of drugs for their bodyweight as a smaller cat would. They must be drama queens!

I just looked at the break down and he was sedated not anaesthetised so i guess thats why i noticed a difference in his come round. The others were all rapinovet'd for their procedures. Lynn??

I have a vague recollection of drugs etc staying in fat longer so maybe thats why larger cats take longer to excrete them
