when i lived in Queensland i used to grow my own. The process for making coffee is fairly straightforward actually. The trees are very attractive and often grown for their decorative value. If you are planning to harvest though, you need to keep them fairly heavily pruned so they don't get too tall. The flowers are tiny white flowers that grow along the branches and they are followed by bright red berries that contrast nicely with the green foliage. I could go on - but perhaps I should cook my dinner instead ...

Now that sounds like an excellent excuse to have a civet in the house! Mind yu I didn't think civets were actually cats but they are very pretty!

OH is well trained in the art of present giving...he knows that small boxes i.e. from Tiffany's are good ;D, big boxes i.e. from Curry's are very, very bad >:(
mind you, he knows unless he wants a mega-strop he betta get it right! (Can't believe what some of my friends let their OHs get away with as thinking is acceptable )

I'm with you Duchess - once dumped a man (very loudly - the whole neighbourhood heard me!!) when he turned up with a gardening fork as my birthday present - cheek, how unfeminine a gift is that!!!
-
...don't get me wrong, if that's what you want that's good ;D
my other big bugbear are people who expect you to buy your own present 'cos they'll give you the money >:( or, even worse, buy the wrong size >:( >:( >:( - how difficult is it to check in the wardrobe!
And don't even get me started on so-called "sexy" undies in 100% tacky red and black nylon...have to say here, s'not me or OH but a former colleague who bought his then g/f a basque  but at least we didn't have to see photos of her wearing it...esp given she was a biiigggg girl who was a prison warder :scared: - d'oh, what was he thinking...I think it was a case of "hmm, nice. Did you keep the receipt?" :evillaugh:
