The handle keeps coming apart :( It was ok first day but last night it kept coming apart whenever Mosi caught the feather - the slightest pressure would cause it to come apart. Guess I'll just selotape it and it will be ok. just wondered whether anyone else had this happen?
-
No my birdy has been sat on, pulled in a frenzy by Sasa and I have pulled it while she has been lying on the bird but its really firm.............are you sure you have the handle pushed in all the way. It does go in quite a way.
-
It can happen sometimes if it does best is to glue it in. I only ship in the two part pole version but the product does come in one long 3ft pole but to ship these would cost double and also UK postage and packing would be much higher pushing the selling cost of a 3ft all in one pole to over £15 for one!
Do ya think peep swould want a full one part 3ft pole at the higher price?
:Luv:

I like the 2 part pole because I thought it would be easy to pull apart for storage. Maybe that's the problem? Maybe you aren't meant to keep pulling it apart. Like I said, it was fine on saturday even when Mosi caught the feather and pulled it. Last night though it kept coming loose. I would push it as far down as it would go but it would just slide out again when there was any pressure exerted on the feather. Glue is a good idea - probably better than sellotape. I don't think it's worth getting the single pole ones if they're that much more expensive, Tan. By glueing it together we can make our own 3ft pole for less money! ;D

No I dont think the long pole version would sell well cos of price.
You are right I dont pull mine apart, once it was together it stayed that way ;D

I had some problems getting the thing in in the first place! the hole on the other stick was a bit small, so as I was trying to get it in it was shredding fibreglass all over my hand Ow :tired:
Had to make the hole a little bigger, then it went in. No problems so far with it coming out, have been feeling little splinters in my fingers for a few days though...
-
interesting how you solved that Mojo - I whittled a fine layer off the 'male' part of the handle :evillaugh: micro-milimetre by micro-millimetre until it went together so as to be sure I didn't get too excited and make the join too loose. I like to be able to pull it apart, at least until I find a safe place to play with it (and my terrible threesome).
-
Lexy managed to yank the whole thing apart earlier... seems that diving for the bird and mum pulling it away don't go hand in hand :-:
I may have to get some kind of rubber filler to keep the rod together though. I can see this being a problem as Madam gets more boisterous.
-
My naughty kitties have pulled the feathers off the end of one so I think that is basically knackered........didn't last too long but they had a lot of fun demolishing it :evillaugh:

I had some problems getting the thing in in the first place!
I ordered 3 initially (our house, brother's and neighbour's) and took me a a while to get all 3 slotted in but no probs falling apart but don't take apart to store. My mom and auntie took delivery of the one for the little 3 month old black furbabe and my 85 year old ma had no probs putting stick together. Only probs are having to hide it from the young fella as he goes mental over it. Cheers Tan. I think I got a few brownie points from Auntie for that ;D

I don't either, the only problem I have is I don't like feathers and a few times one has caught my hand, and the feeling of fear is horrible, when I put it away I make sure the feathers are out of my sight without actually touching them. What I will do for my cats happiness has no bounds. ;D
