Hi all
Was stroking Menue earlier and found scabby bits along her tail and around the base of her tail, they werent a bloody scab colour, but a clear/gingery colour! I have noticed she has been scratching a lot recently. I have checked for fleas and haven't found any sign. Could it just be that her claws are just too long and she is catching herself on them when she is scratching?
She is booked in to the vets for a manicure on thursday!

Just make sure the vet checks it out, could be just over active oil glands or could be a mild flea allergy.

I agree with lynn, I would certainly as the vet to check it out.

The scratching has subsided a little bit... typical!!! Its as if she knows shes going to see the nasty man in blue!!!

Ask your vet to look at this. It sounds very much like a flea allergy; you don't always find fleas on the cat. If a cats is allergic to them, just one will provoke a reaction.

No alllergy or anything... Just very blocked anal glands!! The vet had to squeeze them! Not very nice! Menue isnt very happy at the mo!!
He also found a skin tag on her teet/nipple, but said it wasnt anything to worry about. He also had a look at her claws and said they were fine and recommended that I didnt get them clipped, but if they didnt shed then I was to go back. I have booked her in for her vaccinations also.
