Title: New foster
Post by: Desley (booktigger) on August 14, 2007, 07:31:15 AM
Got a new foster last night - a 4yo pure white female, very friendly, affectionate and playful, so hopefully wont be with me for too long. She was a stray at my neighbours work for 18 months, but it was only when the ward closed that she thought of finding her a new home, she thought she had a home lined up hence me not getting her till last night, but sadly the lady never bothered to ring, we gave her a couple of days but nothing at all - really irritates me, she could have been her on Thurs and on the rehoming page by now otherwise. My neighbour did tickle me by saying that as her fur is so much nicer now, she must have had worms - nothing to do with being in a home rather than living rough then!! She also came with some toys, which is sad as her other 2 cats can be found in my front room quite a lot playing with my cats toys, she has none in her house for them, yet they obviously like to play!! Pics will come later, didn't want to take any last night.

I know Ruth - certainly not what you would expect from someone with not only 30 years cat 'owning' experience, but also 10 years of rescue experience!! Managed to get some half decent pics last night, will try and post them either later or tomorrow. She is being fussy with her food, but I know my neighbours are the kind who relent and feed chicken or ham if a cat wont eat cat food, so I suspect that is why she is doing it. She is eating dry though, so am not going to relent!! Will get her on the rehoming page this week too, and see if she can't find a home quite quickly.

Awe she sounds lovely. I rehomed a pure white 3 year old male cat at the end of May.....he is just the same by the sound of it.....so friendly and loving but oh so talkative!
I'd love to take her too but on looking at your website I see you are in Lancashire which is too far away!

Hey Des - glad you could take in the kitty. Not been around much due to set back with my sister. We're going on hols on Saturday so can you get pics/details to me tomorrow possibly? That why the website can be updated before we go - will direct people to enquire direct to rescue while we are away.

Sorry to hear there has been a setback with your sis - I have my camera in my workbag, so will sort pics out by lunch, there are some brief details on the CC page already - not the best, as she has only been here a couple of days.

She is, and playful and affectionate with it. I am not keen on her name, but no point changing it.

Mimi has gone to a new home on a trial basis - it is the people who had Finn off me earlier in the year, so as long as she can tolerate him, her dog and her 3yo, she has a wonderful home, being spoilt. Am going to keep her space open for a week just in case though.

ME too - haven't heard anything yet, will ring this afternoon to see how things are going. Finn was a tabby male who had an undescended testicle - there have been a lot of cats here this year though, i managed to forget some of them when she asked how busy I had been since she last came!!

Got a text yesterday saying that she is lovely, Finn loves her and they were curled up together sleeping, so she isn't coming back. Lovely to hear of anothe one who will now be pampered.

Yeah, and makes me feel better that my neighbour thought it was OK to feed her outside for 18 months before doing anything about her. And of course, it frees up space for the next needy one.

yeah - and the really ironic part is that she did rescue work for 10 years!!!

:-) The only reason Mimi came to me was cos the ward she was working on was closing - there were two cats they were feeding, she managed to get the other one as well - months after I had tried to convince her, as he was an unneutered tom!! She told me yesterday how well he is doing, and I reminded her that I said months ago all he needed was a home environment - I even kept my room free for a short while earlier in the year for him.
