This could explain some of the problems with older cats like the constant shouting, maybe its when they get confused or cant remember.

Ollie is quite shouty now - I think of him just like the confused old guy in the cafe that can't communicate anything without a five-minute Force Nine tirade. :)

can anyone get access to the article so we can see what helps in terms of the meds or diet that they refer to? I wonder if certain vitamins (B) help? The only diff with people that I've experienced is that a cat with dementia/alzeimers seems to get anxious and some of the shouting's related to that. eg they are alone in the night, shout, person arrives to give comfort (bleary eyed person), cat stops shouting. Wonder if they look at calming agents?
