Two days someone rang me about a cat that they had been feeding for a time after her owner moved away. I was informed that she was now full of fleas. I said we were full to bursting but we could take her to the vets for MOT flea and worm treatment and then return her if they were willing to feed her until we had room. Anyway Donna collected her a couple of days ago and on her way to the vets she rang me and said the cat was not looking good. We had bloods taken, an ex-ray and ultra sound etc sadly this morning Tia was gently PTS as her liver was a mess, her lungs full of fluid there was also a mass in her abdomen. Bless her she was very old and only had 2 teeth. Although age is not a consideration the vet felt that in the interest of kindness so we had to let go.
I do wish people would advise us of a abandoned /stray cat immediately and not wait until there is a problem.

RIP Tia. :RIP:

Thank goodness you got to her when you did...
As much as I have been upset over the past week over Holly, at least I thank God she came into a rescue, to us, and didn't suffer an agonising and lonely death.
RIP Tia.

All these sad stories. At least you gave Holly chance and were able to give her the final act of kindness.

RIP little one, at least you were taken to a vet and let free, rather than left to go 'naturally'.
