I have realised from posting on here that I have lots of made up cat words that perhaps mean the same to other people (only crazy people on here though) but they would certainly not be in the dictionary.
My words are:
Scritching - I would describe this as using your fingers like the claws on a toy grabber machine to scritch a tummy or back.
Scodge - The is like a llittle rub on the head as in 'Do you want Mummy to scodge your head'?
Scatch - This is a very gentle scratch, the skin wouldn't be broken with a scatch
Biclits - Biscuits of course
Baby juice - water/kitty milk
So.... Did anyone know what those words meant before reading the description?! Do you have your own special made up cat words too?
-
Excellent idea for a thread Helen ;D
ninging When they bite their back feet
dibbing Generally batting things around with their paws, knocking things of shelves etc
pooting When they poot around, just kind of wandering around with no real purpose
oobying See 'pooting' above, means much the same!
tummyticks Fairly obvious, tummy tickles :shy:
-
cadging - begging demanding human food
bubby - showing their belly
tretched - stretch for mummy
puddlewaddle - well..erm... going to toilet :-[
-
I've heard of scritching before on another forum - never been quite clear on what it means!
I tend to go in for the baby talk myself :-[ eg cuddly wuddles for cuddles.
-
You two are crazy  :evillaugh: I've heard of cadging but all the others are new to me.
-
All of mine are made up, heaven only knows where the words came from, they just kind of, well, suited I suppose  :evillaugh:
-

Erm....WE are crazy?...erm ok... you nutter who scritches things she shouldn't :evillaugh:

It was an accident :shy:, besides I don't like to talk about it - well only to my therapist :evillaugh:

I do have one-
Scuddley bum, this is when the cat is rolling on the floor and wanting a good old belly rub.
-
 at you lot.
Mine's "Toggling" - it's what Pad does when he leaps up at the jackets hanging on the coat rack and pulls on the toggles before dashing upstairs like his tail's on fire
-

Poodlay = tickling kitties on tummy
Scribble = scratching (eg "aww are you having a scribble?")
Mooli = just another word for "cat" (me and OH call them moolies alot)
My fave word at the minute is tortrude (mixture of tortie and Gertrude (for Gerti) :evillaugh:
We go in for the baby talk alot too... "awwww kitty want schnugglay? awww is she a cuddlebum? Liccle mooli.." etc ;D
-
I say since there are more than one of us doing this is perfectly normal. Its the rest of the world that are nutters :tongue 2:
-

I like name merging too :evillaugh:
I like to keep things even and fair so if I start calling Lucas 'Lu-Lu' then I have to shorten Riley's name to 'Ri-Ri'. Unfortunately for Lucas it works the other way too, he has the 'ley' part of Riley added to his name. His new name is Luc-Ley - pronounced Luke-Lee - I tell him it's his trailer trash name and say it in a trailer trash voice :evillaugh:

I always think the cats must just look at me in disbelief when I talk to them like that... its fun though :evillaugh:
You just reminded me Helen - I also say the word "loo-lee" for toilet... like "awww do you need the loo-lee?"
Ruth - yup, agreed its everyone else that is crazy!
-
Agree too that it is everyone else who is crazy  . They just don't know what they're missing, there's a whole new language out there!
We have, well, I have, OH is slowly coming round to it all .....
Donuts as in Donut Paws as in big, round, fluffy, cutsie paws "oh look at your big donuts aren't they cute"
A combination / variety of snuffy, snufflekins kind of meaning cats in general and being cute and cuddly, hard one to describe really.
And then lots of words with kins, catkins, cake, pie added on the end.
There's talk in another post about writing a book, we should write a dictionary too
-

I do that one too.
I like my 'w' double words - does everyone else do that too? You know, Mosi Wosi, Jaffa waffa, munchkin wunchkin, cutie wutie, tiger wiger.... :-[ They do look at me like I've gone mad but so long as the words are accompanied by cuddles and kisses they're ok with it.
-
Oooh yes, W is king in my house - Here is an average 'W' sentence... 'Mummy wuvs de baby Wi-wees and de baby Woo-kees'. Is it any wonder I'm single :evillaugh:
-
:larf:
my oh would think im barking if i did that, but i do secretly when hes not around have a "mumsy" moment
-
 This thread made me laugh
I don't make up that many words..
I call Charlie Boo Baa As in - "What's my wee Boo Baa doing??"
-"Let me see they tiny Pawsy waws."
-"Hi angel pangel bums."
- "Who's been a good Loo Laa while we were out!?" (Loo Laa can aso be adapted to Floo Flaa)
-"Are you hungry chicken licken?"
We are all nuts
-
We don't have paws in my house - we have pawsies. Clawsies on the pawsies ;D
Maybe that's why I'm single too.
-
You just need to find someone just as crazy... my oh is just as bad with the cats
I do alot of "w" too... awww cheesey... my liccle baby waby want schnuggle wuggle? Yes she does! :ahh:
:evillaugh:
-
ooh, we have clawsies too ...... glad its not just me lol
-
Errrrrm not sure I should admit this i dont have words for a particular thing as said just 'isms'
Like Pookums ..come give mummy a pookum ...oh you are such a pookum ...
Snugglelichious ..
Nuzzles
Stinky doo
There are many many more but i think that i will keep them to myself !
-

Just dont do this
Well unless I dont notice!
I think Misa would look at me like I was  if I didnt talk normally to him ;D ;D ;D
-
can anyone explain why a cat with a daft name like Swampy should even need nicknames? ;D they change too for no apparent reason. Used to be lambchop or Chicken (Not very veggie lol) but recently he's Mr Foo or Ofta-bofta-foo. He's deaf too which gives a whole new meaning to White Coat Syndrome
Max has been called The Sheesh (Maxsheesh-baksheesh) and he doesn't have ears, he has oggies.
OH tolerates this so there's hope for you singles yet! Mind you, I've spent years training him
-

I love this thread, I'm so glad it isnt just me!! :innocent:
Here are mine and hubby's
1. Rinka - cat milk
2. Reesh - cat - all cats are called this, ie 'oh look at that lovely reesh in that window' etc
3. Pooching - what Cleo does, padding, but suckling at the same time. And to save my clothes she has an old t shirt of mine, which is a 'poocher'
4. Booshing - swiping/ hitting. ie 'dont boosh your sister, you naughty reesh'

-
Mango gets called the bear (bear bearbearbearbearbear bear!!!)
