Hello all you fine Purrs People!
I'm just nipping in here to pass on an urgent plea that has been copied to us today, regarding 7 cats needing a home in the Leeds area. We have passed this on to various rescue contacts in West Yorks but if anyone here can help or pass this on - cross-post it or whatever, please do. It doesn't sound like they may have long before they might be PTS.
Thank you!
love & Purrs from:

If you can help or offer a home - please respond directly to Joanne at Leeds Support Services, as follows:

Dear Sirs,
I am trying to re-home 7 cats that have been found in a shed belonging to 3 ladies with Learning Disabilities. The cats are living in terrible conditions in a small shed with no natural light. I appreciate most cat shelters are full to bursting but if you could even take 1 of the 7 cats that would be helpful otherwise we have no alternative but to get the cats put to sleep
Many Thanks

OMG!!! Hope someone comes in time to rescue/give a home to these babes :(
-
Emailed the lady giving Cat Action Trust 1977 Leeds branch details just in case they were missed.
Hopefully she'll give me an update as well, and we'll see what else I can do.
-
I emailed the lady directly and got this response:
I will be out of the office starting 16/07/2007 and will not return until
18/07/2007.
I will respond to your message when I return.
Hopefully, the situation isn't as urgent as it was marked. :scared:

Hmm, maybe we could call the number? I can't until 12 (no personal calls during working hours etc and my mobile isn't charged).
-
I caved and made a quick call.
A lady from Cat's Protection is going out this afternoon to have a look. So hopefully they'll be sorted.
-
A problem we have found with situations like this is that the people who had the cats need a close eye keeping on as they tend to go and get more cats.

Hehe! I was going to call today too. :) Hopefully, they'll be well cared for now.

How awful I hope something is soon sorted

I get the feeling Social Services are on top of that one in this case, Ela. ;)
I hope the CP branch can sort this quickly, and I hope they know we're here for any support needed, like transport, etc.

They may be , however, in our cases it is usually people that do have a social worker that we have the problems.
-
Anyone know anything more about these cats?

From Joanne
"Thanks for your email. The cats have not been re-homed as yet but have been visited by a lady from the cats protection league who has said she may eventually be able to re-home them. It is not ideal but at least it is a start."
