Just had another 4 kittens in, they were found in box which was taped with duct tape in a skip :censored: :censored: When the lady rang, she said they were feral and thought they came from one of the local farms, she was ripped to shreds by them when she put them into a carrier. I think they are just very frightened little babies :'( They look to be about 8 weeks old, in good health but very frightened but it's no wonder with what they've just been through :censored: :censored: I'll post some piccies later :Luv: :Luv:
-
Oh my goodness!
I'm really glad they're with you now. They'll come around in no time in your care.
Maybe a few of us should get together and make a trip to yours to help with all the kitties. Give you a break on litter boxes etc.

Maybe if a few of you came round and did some catnapping, that would be better :evillaugh:

Poor babes......but these are the lucky one's and it saddens me to think that some just dont get found.....grr i could easily dump the :censored: who done this >:(
Hoping these kitties are fine and not too traumatised x
-
How bout tryin to setuup a transport run to different areas? :-:
Just out of curiosity dawn whats your rehoming rate a week?
-
Not really keen on doing transport runs with kittens unless it's an emergency tbh, it can be far too stressful for them and me as well :tired: The last few days, I've had 4 ferals, and 2 kittens go out.......and hopefully Nikita and 2 more kittens in a few days. If desperate, I can sort the stable one's out. The one's I've got in today are caged at the moment so not too much of a nightmare, it's when they're loose, it's bedlam  :evillaugh:
I think these little one's have been someone's pets, they have eaten and seem a lot more settled although still unsure. They are all scrummy so should be homeable fairly quickly :Luv:
-
Here's a piccie of the gorgeous babes :Luv: :Luv:

Your wish is my command, she's yours :heeee heeee:

It seems there are a lot of "ordinary people" who are callous enough to do this kind of thing - although its nothing new as our carpenter said it was a regular occurance to find tied up sacks with kittens or puppies in on the beach when he was young :'( - There are some evil people around. I'm not religious but I hope hell exists for those guilty of hurting and killing gorgeous innocent animals.
-
I must confess when she contacted me today, I was convinced they were her kittens :-[ You get so many people ringing up saying they've found some kittens etc etc and you know damn well they are theirs, but you just have to smile sweetly and then curse when they are out of earshot :evillaugh: It was only after meeting her and seeing the state of her hands that I realised she had been telling the truth.
-
I'm afraid I've got to the stage where I try not to focus on details too much. I know that might be classed as cowardly, but every time I think it can't get any worse, it does... :'( The final straw came for me when I asked Battersea how my (now sadly a bridge baby) Twinkle lost her tail when I adopted her from them. They told me that she was rescued by a passer by after some 'children' had cellotaped a firework to her tail and let it off.... :rage: After the anger of hearing that subsided, I figured that I can never get even with these monsters because society wouldn't let me do the same to them. >:(
All we can hope to do is what Dawn, Ela, Teresa and all the other real heroes do, or if we can't do it ourselves, support them in their work. ;)
-
 Pinkbear. Society doesn't surprise me in the least these days :censored: :censored: When Lainey was over, we had to go to an RSPCA presentation thingy, one of the inspectors had come over from London and the dog that she had adopted had been tied with a rope round it's neck and was being dangled over a balcony by it's so called owners......she actually caught them doing it and took the dog :censored: :censored: I think for people to do what they do, and have no shame or remorse for doing it, seriously have a screw loose and if they don't get what they deserve in this life, they get it when they go to hell :censored: :censored: I find I have less and less patience with people these days but hard as it is, you have to learn to bite your tongue until the animal is out of danger and then you can let rip if need be :evillaugh: Sometimes I hate what I do as you can feel so downhearted by everything, but believe it or not, there are some happy and nice times with them especially when you've gained their trust and they come to you for cuddles and kisses :Luv: :Luv:
-
Tiggy and her brother were found dumped on a skip (aged approx 2 weeks old). I will always be thankful, in a twisted kind of way, to the evil person that dumped them for 19 and 11 years of happiness...
Glad these little ones have found their way to you Dawn, they have every chance now

-
Seriously, all these pics in your threads, reeeeally making me wanna nab one or five...
So what's stopping ya :evillaugh:
-
Eeeeep, they're gorgeous! I think the calico is my favourite too. (If it's possible to have a favourite out of such a bunch of sweeties! :))
-
Another sad thing about all this is that the mum cats is quite possible pregnant again. If only the owners would have contacted a rescue, although they may not have been able to take in the kittens immediately they could have perhaps tried to help find homes and offer to get mum spayed. Is it possible your local paper could print a pic and give general neutering/spaying advice and advise where vouchers can be obtained?
-
The kittens have come from Wrexham and the annoying thing is, our local RSPCA are always doing neutering campaigns and targeting that area in particular but some peeps generally can't be :censored: . As those in rescue will know, the only way of doing it is to pick the mum's up yourself, take them in and then return them back to their owners.
-
Many years ago, in London, there was a vet who had real passion for cats in general, but ferals in partcular. The more they hissed and spat at her, the more she seemed to like them. She just lurved neutering them! :yesss: :oolala: The first sniff of a feral colony and she'd be out there with the volunteers doing the trapping! "Mad Nora" we called her... Some of the male volunteers never turned their back on her!
-
Aw bless....they are gorgeous.....not looking very wild tho just timid :Luv:
-

Not like a vet I know of who once said that he would rather PTS an unneutered tom than castrate it.
-
I think the vets are used to the types of cat I can take in now :evillaugh: One of the spanish vets that I used to deal with is back at my old surgery for a couple of months, he told me last week that he'd missed me and my cats in traps   He did once put a feral on the scales to weigh her and then let her go........both myself, the vet and vet nurse all got savaged, and the vet did get a roasting off me as we spent about 20 minutes trying to catch her :evillaugh:
-
Ouch....the masachist
-
Ouch....the masachist
I think he was taking the pee tbh :evillaugh:
-
 They are all beautiful xx
-
How long do you think I could get away with having a few extra cats in the house before my OH noticed?
I have that spare room that we don't go in much :sneaky:
They are lovely!
-

The art is to take in cats that are almost identical to those you have and then men (sorry men) don't often notice for a while and when they do it is too late and the cats have found their way into the males affections
-
I knew I should have got an all black cat! As it is the perfect disguise.
He’d never figure out if I had one or eight of them ;)

I knew a bloke who had an cat. He lived in a top floor flat, but puss had access to the outside via the kitchen window onto a flat roof. One day, the cat went out and didn't come back. Then, after 6 weeks of searching, he called to say puss had returned home via the kitchen window as usual and was tucking into dinner liked he'd never been away. Puss was pure black. ;)
I next saw him three weeks later, and when I went round, puss jumped up on my lap for a cuddle - but puss had a white spot on it's chest. :stupid:
-
Awww.
We've only got two other black and white cats in the area that could almost pass for Penguin, the others are all different colors including a HUGE white cat I would have thought it a dog until I used my camera to zoom in...
-
How are these wee darlings doing today, Dawn? I take it they're from the same litter? Quite a mix, isn't it? :evillaugh: Mum must have been very friendly. :Luv:
Keep your fingers crossed that I win the lottery this week, 'cos I'd take the lot of them if I had a bigger house. :Luv: :Luv: :Luv:
-
Am glad at least these little ones were found and now stand a fighting chance of getting good loving homes. That little ginger one is gorgeous. He looks slightly defensive and sad, but like he'd be a right little rufty-tufty. :care:
-
Kittens are all fine, still nervous obviously and I'm pretty convinced they were someone's and not ferals :censored: The little tortie girl has decided from day one she's not stopping in a cage and has been spending her time in the lounge curled up  Not sure how she's getting out, but everytime I put her back in with her siblings, I look again and she's gone :evillaugh: I'll try and get a better pic of her later.......she is really gorgeous bless her :Luv: :Luv:
-
solo piccie of the little ginger one too please, Dawn ;D
-
I'll take one shortly and post :)

Oh...!!! :wow:
That tortie is remarkable, isn't she? :Luv: :Luv: Someone lucky is going to end up with her alright. I just wish it was me.... :(
Edited to say..
What on earth was that monster thinking doing that to such a beautiful litter???? :rage:
-
One of the wobblies is a tortie as well........very scrummy :Luv: :Luv: And I meant to tell you, the offer this week is get one tortie, get one free
-
Dawn, hunny, if I thought OH would let me have a pair of kittens, I'd be in the car right now. :sneaky: But he's alergic, bless him, and he itches quite a bit now. Four cats in the house would probably drive him out to the shed. :(
That wee Tortie is the most captivating, stunning little darling I've seen for quite some time. :yesss: Oh.... it's not fair! :sigh:
-
If he moves in the shed, you can then have the torties, I'm sure he'll understand :evillaugh: My hubbies allergic to cats as well but I think he's slowly getting immuned to them :evillaugh: I do get a lot of earache at night time though because when I go to bed, I get a trail of cats following me and he is then up half the night coughing :heeee heeee:
The tortie is a little doll, and so is the wobbly one :Luv: :Luv: I'll try and get a decent piccie of her, she is absolutely gorgeous.......I love them all and wish I had a bigger house so I could keep them all :evillaugh:
-
Just love that little tortie :Luv:
-
Oh they're all lovely. Little scrumptious puddings!!! ;D

-
I think these little one's have been someone's pets, :
thats what makes it even worse really . They look to be about 6 weeks ? so someone has presumably fed them and cared for them that long then tossed them out onto a skip unbelievable ? why not dump them outside a local Vets at least
well done Dawn. I really don't visit oftn enough so I don't really know enough about all you rehomers and rescue centres. Do you mind me asking how you are funded Dawn ? do you have charity status or do you do this at home on a shoestring lol ;D

I do get help with the spaying and neutering off the RSPCA, they have been really good and I can't knock them. Vet bills, food bills etc come out my own pocket and you've also got fuel on top with all the running round you do. It's a struggle especially when you get a few sickly one's in but I have a lot of support off my vets and they are a godsend. They will always treat my animals regardless of my growing vet bills so without their help, it would be impossible. My food bill alone is £60 per week, that's just for the dried, on top of that mine have wet food and then kitten food for the babies as well, and also cat litter, wormers, defleaing treatments, etc, etc so I really need to win the lottery to make life easier ;) I have a couple of peeps who send me regular standing orders which I really appreciate, every little helps regardless of how much :)
-
blimey Dawn £60.00 on dry food gulp!. :-: .........how many do you have in at the moment ?
-
Sending you Lotto winning vibes DD ~~~~~~~~~~

I must have over 40 now with all these bloody kittens I've been lumbered with  I've got to sort out the one's to go out next week as it's getting ridiculous now......so I'll have a busy week of trapping ferals :tired:
The kittens are tame by the way, so definitely belonged to someone :censored: :censored: I can't get near the little tortie, she is still running away from me but she's extremely playful :Luv: The little black/white is a little nervous as well but the black and the ginger are real cuddle bums :Luv: :Luv:
-
you guys are amazing . 40 cats ? thats more than most PDSA's can manage.
I am already pretty committed supporting other cat charities but I'd like to make a small contribution to you and your cats Dawn if I may.
I'd like to pledge £300.00 per year .I know its not much but every little helps I'm sure.
PM me with your bank details and I'll set up a monthly direct debit.
-
Awww Nick, I'm speechless   That is really very thoughtful of you, and myself and my furbabes really appreciate it, thank you so much :Flowers: I'll send you my details and thanks once again :cuddle:

Way to go Nick.......what a lovely gesture ;D
