Hi Everyone,
Well I convinced OH to make the trip to IKEA and PAH with me last night after work. It wasn't actually that busy which was good ;D . I bought a cat tent and Fergus and Polly are absolutely loving it :Luv: .
I've added some pictures below. Picture 6 is taken under supervised play, all well and good :wow: . Picture 7 is taken about 5 mins later and under non-supervised play :tired: !!! The photo is birds eye view so taken from above.
Cat tents are highly recommended though, they seem to have forgotten the sofas exist at the moment!

Glad you ventured to IKEA em & got one of the exciting tents. What fun!
-
I succumbed to the pressure and bought one too :evillaugh:

Tut Helen! Only one? Bet they're having a fab time in it!
Lexy had a frenzy in hers today. Very cute!

I'm not stingy - honestly! I like them to share toys so that they play together as I don't want them growing apart :shy: They give it the paws up, the peepy holes are very popular ;D
-
Looking forward to seeing some piccies of the boys having fun Helen :wow:
I think it's the best £5 ever spent!!

I discovered the shadow of the tail at the back is what Lexy keeps hitting when she gets in there. Huge fun. The peepy holes are the best thing ever.
You're right Em. Best £5 spent. Easy clean, easy play and ages of entertainment bliss.

I already have some but didn't wan't to hijack your thread and I think people are getting a bit sick of my 'Lucas just ate his tea - pics!' or 'Riley is asleep - pics!' type threads :shy: They love it though, it was definitely worth traipsing round Ikea at the weekend for (something I wouldn't normally do if you paid me )
-
Helen - get the pics up :wow:
I'm desperate to see them in their new tent :D
Em - Glad they like their tent :evillaugh: I love that this tents the new fad in kittyland ;)
-
I am determined to get one or two of these for our three.. I hope they like em ;D was going to go on Saturday but ended up having no time to do anything! :-[
If we get the flat we have applied for (fingers crossed cause its gorgeous!) I think I will be IKEA obsessed again anyway buying all new stuffs - already been looking at the pets section on the website!
Helen, I think we need picture evidence of the gorgeous boys enjoying their tent! ;D

Right, really need to get on with some work now ..........

Absolutely! ;D
Mosi has had his for a while but the novelty hasn't worn off yet. I often come home to find it the other side of the room! He jumps on top of it (did the splits on it the other day! wish I'd had my camera handy), dives underneath it, plays inside it - the lot. Even Jaffa likes it - I found him pouncing at it yesterday.
-
OK, OK - I really don't like doing it but I feel like I've been badgered into it :innocent: Thanks Em for letting the boys share Fergus and Polly's thread :)

We don't have an ikea nearby. They are on ebay for £7.99 + £1.99 postage. Someone is even selling them for £9.75 + postage. I'm still tempted :evillaugh:
-
I love their suckling picture
I hope they said thankyou for making you trail around Ikea Helen :evillaugh:
-
Aw, fab pics as always, glad they like their tent Helen ;D
-
 how on earth can two little boys so be :censored: CUTE!!! :Luv:
-
I LOVE the suckling (and peeping) pictures! :Luv: :Luv: :Luv:
-
:Luv: brilliant! Fergus and Polly love chewing the whiskers too, think they did that before even venturing in the tent.
I think all our babies should get together and go off for a weeks camping expedition. It would give us all a well deserved break!
-
think I'm going to have to get one for my girls............
-
What brilliant pictures! They made me giggle while eating my sandwich - Riley looks so cute in the last pic!
I can feel a trip to Ikea coming on.......think the kittens at the Inn and Minimopsical would LOVE one of these plus my babies too!

Great pics, Helen! Love Riley's victory roar! ;D
Do we sound like the kind of people who get fed up with cat pics?!

-
Helen, you take wonderful pictures of your 2 tented warriors!
Oh noooooo though, you've just given me another reason to have to go down in my teeny car, truck dodging, to that nightmare aka Ikea. What silly swedish name do they give the cat tent btw? At the weekend, Swampy threw up all over the Brunkkrissla. Dat be a fleecy rug to you and moi :)
-
Am going to IKEA today... does anyone want me to get a tent for them & post it on? I think Gill wanted one as her store is far away.
-
Hmmmm... Suddenly I really need to go Ikea... Funny that... :evillaugh:
-
IMPORTANT SAFETY ALERT
Do not, under any circumstances, place this tent up against a wall... The boys were just playing the fastest game of chase known to man (they were barely visible to the naked eye :evillaugh:). Lukey was the poor unfortunate soul who was at the front, they went tearing into the tent at top speed and Lukey collided head first with the wall  :evillaugh:
-
meowch...
hope they're ok :scared: ?
-
meowch...
hope they're ok :scared: ?
Just about, he needed lots of head kisses and an extra bowl of kitty milk to help ease the pain
-
Poor Lukey! Hope he's feeling better.
If there wasn't a safety warning somewhere with the tent, maybe you could contact IKEA about this, perhaps via their website, and point out this danger. May be worth suggesting they put a warning with the tent so that other kits don't get into trouble. A really bad knock on the head could be serious.
Give him a kiss for me.
-
perhaps also a good idea to keep away from the top of the stairs???
-
Aww poor baby! Hope he's doing ok this morning
-
Aw, poor Lukey, hope he's OK and the head kisses worked :Luv:
-
Well, Lexy and her wonderful claw....have made nice little punch holes all over the tent I noticed this evening, but even better she has yanked the netting so hard with her claws she has ripped it a bit. So now I shall be sewing a tent.. :tired: But I love my baby so will do that considering that she is resting comfortably in said tent this minute. As you can see it is a home in a home.

oh wow she looks pretty happy in there :)
-
I love those pics and love the ears on the tent..............daft I know
I do hope mine like theirs when it arrives and will have to put it ummm in the middle of a room........do my rooms have a middle! I guess it could go outside too as long as its not windy ...........sigh.
I think everyone should post pictures of their tents hopefully with a cat in ;D
-
I love these tents - question: do any of you who have them already think they'd stand up to going outside, not long term but maybe just during the summer, as a little shelter area.
-
I wouldn't think so, they aren't water proof that I can see.
-

I would have thought so, like you say not long term but they'd definitely last a summer at least (that's if we ever get one >:() They are made of a light raincoat type material with the floor more the textutre of one of those Ikea blue bags!
-
They're just plastic/vinyl aren't they? I would think they'd be ok outside temporarily. Mosi is rough with his and its' stood up to it ok.
-
Its arrived!

Awwww how cute ..I actually got a free cat tent with a bag of Purina cat food ...!!!!
-
I imagine they're like the little kiddy tents you can get and they can go outside kind of. How cool would one of them look down the bottom of the garden ha ha
and yeah Helen your right, if we ever get a bloomin summer
-
Its not fair "I want one".......Lola is beautiful :Luv:
-
They are bigger than i thought they would be and wellmade. I had a hi life pyramid tent when the 3 were kittens and they trashed it in a matter of days, had great fun tho :evillaugh:
Ruth, lola says thank you :)
-
Ok I guess I'm off to Ikea too then, have to get one of those for my boys :innocent: Hobbes will love it - Dylan will probaby totally ignore it like he does most toys etc but goodness knows where I will put it
-
Lola is lovely and her tent ;D
I think Purrliceous still had a few tents for sale from the IKEA shopathon ;D
