Here at Gateshead CP we have reports of a number of pregnant cats and kittens and unfortunately we have absolutely nowhere to put them. We are completely full and as we don't have a shelter in the region we are limited to the space we have with our fosterers. This is a desperate plea to anyone out there who thinks they can help. In our area would be ideal of course but we are willing to look at any source of help and we will think about transport later. We will of course work with anybody who can help. The reports we have are
3 pregnant cats plus at least one litter of kittens
a mum and a litter of kittens
another litter of kittens
another 2 pregnant cats
I know it's a long shot but if anyone thinks they can help please either PM me or ring our CP number 0191 4203180.
Also if you know of other forums this could be placed then I'd be really grateful for any help on that too.
Thank you, Ann

Glasgow isn't that far from Gateshead is it?
I know Canterbury CP recently took some cats on from Stoke CP and thats a lot further away.
-
I did a quick fish around and found out Glasgow is 155 miles from Gateshead, and about 350 from us, Mark.
-
Well thats me out then lol. Im sure youll get something

I always think of the northeast as next to Scotland so assumed it wouldn't be far. I heard from a lady I bumped into in the vets that a horse box full of cats came from Stoke to Canterbury which is 225 miles.
I know when I went to my friend Sally's funeral in Northumberland, the local train went to Gretna Green which I guess is just across the border?

Good Luck with the mums/kittens.......hope you manage to get help sorted :Luv:
-
Mark Gateshead is near Newcastle and nowhere close Scotland. Northumberland is at the border. ;)
-
Good luck and I hope you find folks to help out with the kitties.
I'm in Leeds but my OH would kill me if I had any more cats in the house.
-
Thanks all and Pinkbear and RatiesRule I will keep you in mind - we have transferred cats quite a way before so I may get back to you :thanks:
-
If you're shipping to Pink Bear I am en route (in Chatham). Have a spare room and 2 cat trees, as well as some un-used litter boxes and litter (no cats in the house till the end of the month).
-
Oh, gosh... :shy:
As I mentioned to Anne by PM, my spare room is always available for anyone in crisis - no cats get turned away or PTS if I can do anything about it. ;) Please god it won't come to it, though. Fingers crossed for a rush on the rehoming front. :wow:

Sadly, I won't be able to help at the moment as I am chocca, but I will be able to put a plea out to a few contacts I have that may be able to help :)

I live in gateshead and have given them a ring as I am between cats at the moment and hopefully can offer a foster home to some of these kitties
-
> Horza "Good Luck" ;)
-
Good luck in finding foster places for them I would help out but I live in oxfordshire which is miles away.
-
Just to say thanks to all of you and Horza thanks so much for offering, hopefully someone has called you back but let me know if you don't hear in the next day or two. Maureen who has the phone is very busy at the moment as she is covering welfare while our welfare officer is on hols so it might take her a day or so (although knowing her I suspect not :Luv:. )
