Title: Cattery or not??

Hi,

We got our kitties 2 weeks ago, knowing that we didn't have any holidays etc planned for yonks (if ever??  :tired:)

We've just been invited to a wedding on the bank holiday weekend which is 3 hours drive away. By then Fergus and Polly will be 17 weeks old. Is that too young to leave them in a cattery do you think? The only other option would be to only go for one night, so leave one morning and get back following afternoon, and get a neighbour to keep popping in?

Any thoughts and advice would be greatly appreciated   ;)

They only take them if they have had all their injections.

When I boarded my babes new year for 2 nights there were 2 gorgeous kittens in the next pen to Thai, they wasnt very old.

To be honest  I would board them at least you know exactly where they are and they are safe.

Yes, their injections will be up to date, having the second lot in 2 weeks time.

Cattery we used for Bob only took them if vacs were up to date and were neutered.

We used the same place for 6yrs. Bobs first holiday was when he was about 6 months, it never bothered him.

Well... I guess it depends on how well you know and trust your neighbours. I prefer to have a neighbour come round because at least I know they are in an environment they feel comfortable in. I wouldn't settle if i thought mine were scared or unhappy.  :innocent:

The problem with kittens so young is they need close supervision; otherwise I'd suggest leaving them at home with a friend or neighbour popping round.

But as they are only kittens, it would be safer for them to be in a cattery imo.

I would leave them in a cattery.
However, saying that you might find it hard to find somewhere that has space over the bank holiday at this short notice.

If you choose to use a cattery i would use a FAB registered one
