Mum is a tortie and is absolutely gorgeous, a real little fuss pot :Luv: She has a slight flea allergy but hopefully that will clear up now she's been treated. Kittens on the other hand, I was a little unsure of, they look to be very healthy and a good size. They've been playing in the lounge today and it's pretty obvious something isn't quite right :sneaky: Although they look to be between 8/12 weeks because of the varying sizes, they walk like 4 week olds, very wobbly on the back end. Anyway, they've been down to the vets this evening and Tamzin has had as good a look as she can with them being frightened and she agrees that there is something not quite right......some Cerabella problem she seems to think, so possibly some brain damage. I'm just going to keep an eye on them and monitor their progress and see how they cope in general. I will take some piccies later and post them.

:grouphug:
You're having it real tough recently, Dawn. I really wished I was nearer, I'd be over like a shot - if only to make you a cuppa! :wow:
-
I wish you were closer as well :tired: If you're ever in the area though, I'll let you come and do me a cuppa
-
Gosh, even though I've not been here long I've already come to the conclusion that you've always got your hands full! :)
Good luck with them!
-
Fingers crossed for the kittens Dawn.

Tell me about it, I've just had another phone call, another feral mum with kittens :tired: With the new ones, I've noticed they do sort of wobble whilst sitting down, I thought initially it was because they were frightened, but they are very much like Shelby as she is brain damaged but I'm hoping with time, they will improve. I'm gonna let Uncle Sean have a look at them and see what he thinks.
-
Oh no, those poor babies. Is the big ginger ok or is it damaged aswwell?
-
They are all wobbly on their backends........I think the tortie is the worst but it's hard to say at the moment :(
-
Hope they manage to pull thru without any serious probs :(
-
Here's a couple of pics.......I'll take some of the ginger one's tomorrow :Luv: Top piccie is the mum who is a little sweetheart :Luv: I have to sort out some names for these babes as well ;)

So many nice names  I think Jamila for the mum cat then.......that's decided ;) Any that are not used for the gingers, I'm sure some of them can be used for Smokies babes :Luv: :Luv:
-
Yeayyyy! ;D I thought Jamila suited her as soon as I saw it. :)
Hope they're all well at yours.
That torti kitten looks a cheeky young scamp! ;)

I've had a chat with Sean about them this evening and he wants to see them asap so he can start them on some treatment. He said because of their ages, something might possibly be able to be done or they could at least improve as time goes on. The little ginger and tortie are gorgeous and seem very sweet, the bigger fluffy ginger which I fell in love with as soon as I saw him, is a little buggar :evillaugh:
-
I know I'm up very late tonight but :shify: I've had a big breakthrough with the fluffy ginger :yesss: I think she's a little girl but she has a very fluffy bum so I think I may have to get Sean to double check :-[ She kept following me round the lounge earlier  so in the end I decided to attempt to pick her up.....usually she hisses and spits and then runs away but she didn't even struggle :Luv: :Luv: I think she was trying to tell me, she wanted a cuddle of her new mummy :catlove: She's been sat on my knee for a couple of hours and purring away......I'm really chuffed as she was the worst one out of the lot and I really thought she was going to be a little minx but she's proved me wrong :Luv: :Luv:
-
Wow 3am....
Awwww sounds like you are making good progress! ;D
-
Brilliant news Dawn. Say hello to Sean for me :) Hope he can help the poor little dears xxx
-
Aw, great news about the fluffy ginger :Luv: ;D

I'll be seeing him later so I will tell him you said hi :shify: He's going to take the 3 I've got in for spaying/neutering to the other surgery this evening for me, so he said to take the 3 wobblies in and he'll give them a checkover.
-
First things first, Lainey, Sean says hi back and said he hopes you enjoyed your stay :evillaugh:
He's given the kittens the once over and he's not 100% what is going on but definitely something to do with their brains :( He said for 3 sibling kittens to have congenital defects off their mum would be rare, so he's pretty sure they've contracted some meningitus type virus when they were younger and this is what's causing the problems. He's put them on Synolux for a week and he wants to see them next Tuesday to see if there's any improvement and then we'll take it from there.........he's dropped a :censored: actually cos he wants to see Smokies babies then, so he won't be impressed when I turn up with 9 :evillaugh: :evillaugh:
-
Gosh! poor little mites....hope they manage to recover with no serious issues :(
-
Ofcourse I enjoyed my stay
Poor babies, doesw he think there is anything that can be done to help them now?
He's not gonna be a happy bunny when you turn up with 9 kitties :evillaugh:
-
Awww, fluffy ginger sounds cute!
That's sad about the kittens, but I thought I'd come and give you a little bit of reassurance, although with your experience I'm sure you don't need it :). One of our cats (Susie) is blind, but like them, it's not her eyes that are the problem but the brain or the connection to the brain (we're not sure on how it occured as she was brought to the rspca in with sam, her mum and grandmum as strays). Anyways she doesn't let it stop her she runs around and plays and purrs and cuddles as much if not more than the others... And I'm sure they'll be fine too..

He's hoping with the medication, things may improve as they're only young anyway so fingers crossed anyway.
He won't be a happy bunny but he's a man, so it's to be expected :evillaugh: I'm banned on a Monday night already, maybe he'll ban me altogether :evillaugh: :evillaugh:
Annie, the fluffy ginger is scrummy.......he is going to be a mega cuddle bum, I dozed off last night and woke to find him nestled in my arms :Luv: :Luv:
-
Here's a piccie of the gorgeous fluffy ginger.........he is soooooo scrummy and such a little cuddle bum :Luv: :Luv: He constantly has a mucky face, has the most gorgeous eyes and he loves to nibble on ear lobes  From being the worst one out of the lot, he is now the cuddliest and gives the most nose butts :Luv: :Luv: These babes are back in the vets in the morning for another check up :scared:

Awwww! He's sooo gorgeouss!!!
-
He's going to one of my babies, I put my name on him as soon as I set eyes on him :evillaugh: ;) ........he is utterly gorgeous :Luv: :Luv:
-
What a little cutie :Luv: :Luv:
-
All have been back in the vets and Sean thinks there might be a very slight improvement but nothing mega :tired: We have noticed this morning that they all have a slight twitch as well, so whatever it is that's caused it does seem to have left some brain damage. It's a case of wait and see and hopefully time will show some improvement.
-
He so lovely.
Hope they keep on improving :Luv:
-
What a lucky puddy.....fingers crossed for them all x
-
I managed to get all 3 purring last night so the other two will tame down really easily now I think :Luv: The big fluff did hiss at Sean this morning and the smaller ginger decided to give him a run for his money by charging round the consulting room at full speed, wobbles and all  :evillaugh: Even if they don't make a full recovery, I'm sure someone will fall in love with them......they are all utterly gorgeous and seem on the whole healthy. I'll see what Sean says, but I may get some bloods done and see if anything definitive shows up.
-
All these 3 babes are doing really well, they are full of beans and have been running round like blue a**** flys :) Even though their backends are still wobbly, it doesn't stop them getting where they want to go :heeee heeee: I'm sure the outlook is good for them as they're all growing and gaining weight, I think the fluffy ginger is going to be humungous  All are extremely loveable now and purr for England when you pick them up. The tortie one flops over when her back end is stroked, I'm not sure whether this is because she likes it or whether it's to do with her disability, I haven't quite figured it out yet. She sometimes lies there and stares into space but she does seem bright and is getting extremely playful, so I'm not overly concerned.
-
Great news.....so happy all seems to be turning out good for them.....one of my cats flop when touched so maybe just a softie x
-
Here's a pic of the tortie, she is an absolute babe and will hopefully get the all clear for rehoming when Sean sees her again :Luv:
-
Aww, she is lovely, fingers crossed she gets the all clear.
-
she's beautiful, hope everything's okay
-
OMG!!.....she's just beautiful.....hopefully no probs in re-homing her :Luv:
-
She is lovely I have to say and she is a little purr monster :Luv: :Luv: I think they will be okay to rehome but will have to be indoor obviously and they will have to be monitored regularly. Sean wants to keep an eye on them for a couple more weeks just in case things go pearshaped with them, but they seem pretty healthy apart from the wobble and slight twitch :Luv:
-
Aw, hope they will be given the OK for finding new homes ;D
-
If they are rehomed, I will make sure it's someone fairly local and they use Sean as the vet as he knows the history of them. I have had someone making tentative enquiries about the tortie, she will remain nameless of course but will see what happens :evillaugh:
-
The person who made "tentative" enquiries has offered to "foster" the little tortie when Sean gives the all clear for rehoming, now I'm bearing in mind that her little "fosters" never leave, she thinks I'm :stupid:  either that or she just wants to deal with my vet :sneaky: ;) Either way, I'm over the moon and I know she'll get a fab "foster" home with a fab "foster slave" :evillaugh: :blow kiss:
-
Good luck for her.
-
Pickles is one foster who will be leaving eventually...just have to find his special person - they are proving extremely elusive so far!!!
And I promise to keep my hands off your vet - heaven knows my own is enough of a handful :evillaugh:
-
And I promise to keep my hands off your vet - heaven knows my own is enough of a handful :evillaugh:
 Is it Shamus you deal with or another one in there or do you deal with another surgery now, can't remember :evillaugh:
-
My vets are actually in Abergele now (one reason being that Rosie was being teased at the other place whilst she was in after her op..they thought it was amusing to make her hiss)
I am very impressed by your guess though :Luv: he was lovely although more of an equine vet... sadly I can't persuade OH that we need a shetland in the garden. :evillaugh:

I'm a good judge of character and I have dealt with the nice Shamus in the past and he is :cccooorrr: so it was pretty easy to suss out really ;)
