I think it depends on whether there is a qualified surgeon over here who has done this and the guy in the link has only done 10 cats with a laser and only 30 without, and whther Mango falls it to the extreme category where it says it will not help.

There would always be a higher risk with inexperienced surgeons and not the right equipment.

your right gill although in 2 wk when mango is due anouther steriod inj i will ask for her

i say for her cause it really is

poor thing ......i love her and seem to have a cry about it every day  :(

i have just wrote anouther massive complaint letter to gccf , i dont think they will do owt but at least i keep trying and it gets it off mi chest , me and mango are off to bed now  :doh:

No laughing Gill,

I'm sure this would help as if it improved air flow, it would no doubt help. As Gill said its finding a surgeon that woud be able to peform the operation. It seems Ameica is far more advanced with things like that than here. It might be worth speaking to someone at RCVS to see if they could give you any info.

I think it's wonderful you're looking into options to make Mangos life easier. I don't know much about persians, so I'll refrain from commenting any further!
