Title: Up the Garden Path!
Post by: Gillian Harvey on June 24, 2007, 19:19:05 PM
Remember when it was sunny, and warm, and, well, summery? hmm, what happened to summer! Anyway, back when it WAS summer - they all loved going up and down the garden path, it goes in a zig zag up the first part of the garden, and they nearly always stick to the path on their way up and then on their way down, its funny to watch the procession!

Aw, what a gorgeous picture! They are all so beautiful, I particularly love the red one...  :Luv:

I love that you let them be outside and have fun - even though it must undoubtedly mean a lot of hard grooming work for you! I take my hat off to you...

Poppy is only semi-longhair, and just in her summer coat at the moment, but it's amazing just how much of the garden sticks to her every day... And her paws and belly, that used to be white... well, I'm not even going to go there.  I am just SO happy that Monkey is all short, black hair!  :Luv:

I love that photo, it looks idylllic! Lots of furry Persian cats and a sunny garden!

Joe (the red one) particularly likes to collect bits of twig in his coat, its funny to see him running in from the garden trailing a long piece of something behind him  - even funnier is when another cat is chasing the trailing bit thats stuck in his coat :evillaugh:

Taz had something in his bum fluff last night, i expected poo until it squelched and it was a slug

Gillian, what the best grooming tool for fine trouser hair? I trim him to around an inch but he gets knotty very quickly and absolutely hates them being sorted out.  :scared:

OMG, that's disgusting!    I am so glad we don't have slugs in our garden (just snails). I think I would have prefered poo.

Yeh, mine arent keen on having their trousers brushed  :evillaugh: I just use a fine/medium tooth metal comb and slicker brush, and if they've got an occasional tangle in that area, I tend to tease the tangle apart before combing. I try to do this when all relaxed on my lap and pretend I'm stroking 'em  :evillaugh:

Yet again I am reminded how wonderfully laid-back Poppy is... She loves having her "trousers" brushed, I think it may be her favourite part! She just throws herself down on her back and spreads her legs when she sees the brush. I'm not kidding.  :Luv:

Can't imagine what hard work it must be with someone who doesn't like grooming.  :tired: Again, Gillian - you are a star for letting your little fur monsters play outside. I think it's so sad when people say that their cat can't go outside 'cos it would mess up their coats.
