I am going to pick her up on the 7th july and cant waite
but heres the prob i have to think of a anme and fast cause the breeder ses she will reg her as that after the prefix , i am going to show her can you please help
i dont like people names i like unusual names like moomin
please make some suggestions i only have
miss muffet ( but it doesnt seem special enough )
-
Great news ;D She sounds fab :Luv: Do you have any piccies yet?
No ideas for the name, sorry! Do you know what the others in the litter are being registered as? Often breeders choose themes for each litter, although if you allow new owners to choose the pedigree names I guess that wouldn't happen. If it was me I'd probably choose a character out of a favourite book or something (probably something tolkien related for me - name of an elf or something) or a song title/character. What is the cattery prefix?
-
a picture would be nice and the prefix too ;D
-
sorry no piccs forgot mi camera , the prefix is http://www.tamischabaragdolls.com/
-
Is your kitten on the kitten page?
-
As she is a "blue colourpoint" I would go with the blue theme: Check out these sites for "colour related" names:
http://www.lowchensaustralia.com/names/colournames2.htm#1
-
If you are going to show her have you checked with breeder that she is of show quality?
Is she one of kittens on the link?
What do they add infront of name exactly?
-
If she's got white feet, then she's a blue mitted. A colourpoint raggy hasn't got any white.
Touchofdawn?
Summer Sky?
Sapphire Girl?
-
she is show quality yes
i have done loads of reserch and got the standard of points from gccf , mitted colourpoints loose points if they do not have a white chin and have to have a white srtipe from there chin to the base of there tail , they can have a wider stripe also
she isnt in the link no
-
yes whitty blue mitted or some breeders call blue mitted colourpoint just to confuse
-
THANKS FOR THAT LINK
she will have her gccf name with the prefix at the front and then a pet name
the prefix is Tamischaba then i have the following and the meenings
Tamishchaba Azura ( colour of clear blue sky )
Tamishchaba Celeste ( sky blue )
Tamishchaba Azuline ( blue )
Tamishchaba Royal ( deep blue )
Tamishchaba Periwincle ( blue )
Tamishchaba Ultramarine (deep blue )
Which one do u think sounds the best ?
-
I love the one Azura ;D
-
Periwinkle sounds nice. What about bluebell, or raggy, or floppsie - something you'll use everyday. If you called her Periwinkle, you could call her Winkie/Winkle as a fonder name. (But it sounds a bit rude!)
If you called her Bluebell, you could then call her Bella.
There are all kinds of play on the Ragdoll theme. Wasn't there once a children's programme with a ragdoll in it called Jemima? (Was it Playschool? One of the older peeps would know this.)
Or something to suit her placid nature? Serena?
Serena Bluebell. Nicknames: Bella, Reena, Bluey, and anything you fancy at the time (mine are usually Ratbags/Piglet/Monster!)
Just throwing around a few ideas; hope it helps.
-
azuline, then you can call her zulu or zuzu for pet ...
-
Hi I don't post often but just wanted to say I am pleased you have got your kitten. Now you will have the agonising wait. For a name - she came from Scotland I think - what about a Scottish connection - such as Heather Mist. Or someone suggested Summer Sky. Anyway lots of luck and cuddles with your new kitten.
-
iv given the names azula , azuline , royal to keep to the blue connection for her show name so that she can get her registered as i want to enter her in the progresssive show in july if not too late
now i have to think of her pet nome
i like crookshanks like hermione grangers cat from harry potter , its magical and different but also am trying to think of a tropical name to match her eyes
-
Yay, congratulations ;D . I like Azuline or Azura, you could call her Azzie or Zuzu for short ...... just some ideas ......
I'm hopefully going to see my raggie cross babies today and hopefully getting them in 9 days and counting!!
Emma
-
something tropical to match her eyes .........
here are some Maori language words (with their translations) for you to consider. Pounamou is also the word for greenstone or jade, a precious and spiritually important resource for the Maori people. In fact the south Island of New Zealand is Te Wai Pounamou, the jade waters ...
blueberry
tūrutu
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
blue cod
rāwaru
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
bluefish
karokaro pounamu, korokoro pounamu
-
right what u think about these
Luna- blue like the moon
Mumbles - just cute
crookshanks - mistic
-
please not periwinkle
Luna is very nice (" Hey bear do you wanna sing the goodnight song with me" ) I sooooo know you'll know exactly what i am on about sasha :evillaugh:
but i like luna the best i think.
followed by azura (zurie for short)
sky is very nice also
-
hahahah i didnt even think about that lynn
i didnt pick periwinkle
i think breeder will take tamishcabara azura for show name
i quite like luna cause i like unusual names and not people names for cats but will have to ask anna in the morn , i want to tell the breeder a name for my kitten cause all the others have names picked by there owners that she calls them by and my poor kitty hasnt got one :(
anna is obsessed with planets and has learned her solar system and planit details ( she has a book she makes us read every day to her ) so i think she might like Luna she has been insisting on twinkle but i hate that
oh do u know what happened today , she shut the car door on the tip of her finger , it was awful she screemed for a hour . i dont think shes broke it so we went to the chemist for a dressing and finger bandage and calpol , it is swollen and brused her finger nail is blue and she has a bad cut on it , poor little thing , i have said she can stay off nursery tomorr so she was pleased about that
-
What about Selene? It's one of the names for the moon in classical history - think it is from the ancient Greek.
I wouldn't got for anything cute or silly as you'll have to be filling that in on show entry forms and it'll be seen in catalogues as well. I'd be erring on the side of good taste myself. And unless you're into your footy and support Italy, Azzura isn't a good idea IMHO.
-
Midnight? You will have to post a pic so we can have a look at her and come up with some suitable names.
Oo oo, just thought of 1, what about Skyla.
Sounded good in my head lol. :shy:
-
Just grabbed one of my astronomy books for inspiration. Just a few thoughts...
Galataea: one of Neptune's moons
Cassiopeia: constellation
Serenity: one of the Mare on the moon
Tranquility: one of the moon Mare - first moon landing
Aphrodite: most extensive highland region on Venus
Rhea: one of Saturn's moons
Cordelia: one of Uranus' moons
-
I still like azura the best and she can be called anything as a pet name, it doesnt need to be registered. Although Zuraaaaaaaa would be a nice pet name as a shortform of azura. She could also be called Zuu as a shorter name or Zu Zu ;D
The breeder could register her as ........Azura and call her what you ask her to call her, the kitty I mean.
-
yep gill , i have asked the breeder to apply for tiscabara azula or azuline on gccf cert but i have told her i am trying to think of her pet name so she is still no name :-[
thankyou for them whitty but they are all a bit of a mouthfull :evillaugh:
i still like Luna
iv serched everything from films to disney characters to planits and moons

noone in my familiy liked moomin but it dunt half suit her now and knowone forgets her , she gets moom or moomoo

Nooooooooooo I am full definately full ;D
This morning I was forced out of my bed by birmans, Ducha had somehow had got half under my back and was wriggling to try and get further underneath and Franta turned up and burrowed into bed on the otherside, put his head on my arm and feet on my body and was pushin.
I didnt want to get up but I couldnt move and was scared of squashing Ducha and Frantas tail was swishing away under the bed clothes and enough is enough
-
i woke up this morn to hubby gone and anna and phoebe in bed and mango on the pillow too
-
Right i have done it , i have mailed the breeder and told her my kittens name is going to be
LUNA - a special name like our luna moon ( blue/grey )
little luna will be with us on the 7/7/07 and i cant waite :Luv:
thankyou all x
-
Oh, this is so exciting! You must post pics as soon as possible! Do you have any from the breeder? Ragdolls are so sweet. :Luv: Poppy's breeder also has ragdolls, and I think that's where Poppy got her behaviour from.
There are so many nice names in this thread... I don't like trying to advice on names, though, 'cos it's so personal.
I thought most breeders choose the pedigree names normally..?
-
im glad you went with luna :Luv:
I must say im a wee bit green eyed myself..not for a raggie but i seem to have developed slowly but surely a yearning for a blue eyed cat
-
