Title: I am gobsmacked for once in my life
Post by: Dawn (DiddyDawn) on June 16, 2007, 17:44:40 PM
A couple of years ago I had a bit of a run in with an old dear who was continually breeding her female cats and just giving the kittens to anyone.  I went round, had a nice chat with her to try and pursuade her to get her kitties spayed, only to be told to get off her premises  :censored:   :brick:  Anyway, a few weeks ago, the guy in the pet shop informed me she'd got some kittens again  :censored:  :censored:  I took her number and phoned pretending I'd recently lost one of mine and I was looking for a couple  :evillaugh:  She didn't recognise from my pep talk a couple of years ago, so I bought the kittens and had another little chat but not so heavy handed this time  :sneaky:  One of the cats was pregnant again so I asked if she wanted to part with her, as I knew someone who would love a tabby  :evillaugh:  She said she'd have to have a chat with her granddaughter and would let me know.  I told her I would take any kittens she had as I knew lots of peeps wanting them so to let me know when she dropped and have a think about parting with her.    Miracles of miracles happened today when she rang me to tell me she had 2 kittens I may be interested in, she'd already given 2 away to 2 high school girls but thought I'd like the other two.  Anyway, cutting a long story short, her other cat is now heavily pregnant  :tired: but I've told her not to give any of the kittens away as I will take them.  She also said she thought it was time to have her spayed as she was getting old now, had had a few litters and she was sick of the tom cats hanging round, I've said when the kittens are weaned, we'll get her in and it won't cost her a bean    Also had another chat about the tabby whose 2 kittens I've just brought home and she is still undecided but has agreed that I can get her spayed in 2 weeks and then she'll decide    I can't believe the old bat that I'd had a run in with has finally come to her senses........what a result  ;)

I had a bit of a surprise this morning but a rather welcome one  ;)  The lady whose cat I'm having spayed was actually chasing me up to remind me to book her in    :evillaugh:  She has also asked if it's okay if I get her tom cat done as well  :omg:  I have to say, I've changed my tune on the old dear and I'm pretty impressed  :)  I've got them both booked in for Tuesday now along with the slapper Katie  ;)

Most of the time all you need are a couple of bricks  :evillaugh:  :evillaugh:

Angie, I'm sure she'll hand them over........I was surprised she rang me to remind me, that has to be a first, usually it's me chasing them   :tired:  You can always threaten your son with the two bricks, my son's are pretty well behaved I hope, but they also know if it moves, and it has nuts, they are lobbed off  :evillaugh:  ;)

Just got back in after picking these babes up and dropping them off and I now stink of tom cat pee    The male decided to spray me as I was taking them into the house.........probably his pay back cos he's now got no nuts  :evillaugh:  Anyway, they are both fine, so all I have do now is wait for the other mum cat to wean her kittens, and get her in as well  :tired:

Mmmm Eau de Mâle  Spray is such a horrible smell. At least he's de-marbled now so it won't stink quite so much.

Finally had the final mum cat spayed the other day so no more babies   She had to stay in the surgery overnight to be monitored as she was really pale when I went to pick her up in the afternoon  :scared:  I'm not sure what was wrong with her but she didn't cope too well with it all bless her.  She was also an older cat which didn't help matters but thankfully she was okay to go home the following day and she's now recovering well.  The vet did find a huge tick on the cats forehead when they were checking her, I never thought to mention to check for ticks as I took a couple of the babies a couple of weeks ago and they were covered in them
