Title: Cat Poison
Post by: Gwen on June 15, 2007, 12:30:06 PM
Due to the thread below about Lillies being poison to cats I thaught it would be of an interest to start a topic about stuff we should avoid in our households because they could harm our little ones.

I heard once that onions are poisonous for cats,is this true?

A quick look with a search engine suggests that, while onions are toxic for cats, they'd not normally eat enough to harm them. My cats tend to shy away from them, and just the smell of onions on my hands annoys them. Oddly enough, they seem quite happy to chew on the chives in my garden! (They don't actually eat them though.)

I know that a lot of people use Jeyes Fluid to clean greenhouses/patios and the like and it's toxic to cats - he tin says not to use it at all if you have cats.

In our Links section above we do have a section for Dangers for Cats. You can use that if you like?
