jasper is still trying to suckle.
but he does it on monkeys "thumb" paw? makes all the slurpy noises the lot, she even tried to suckle on my belly bar last night?
monkey did this as a kitten to but on the tassles of the sofa cushion
is this normal?

Is Jasper male or female? (this has nothing to do with the Q)
one of my cats used to suckle the other till they were about 16 months. I think its just a comfort thing.

shes a girlie :Luv:
she seems happy in herself but shes very attached to monkey and is "lost" when he goes out
-
Aww, thats better than not liking him. I think they tend to look at the other cats in the house as mummy.
-
well for the most part monkey is a good lad and accepts it. hes taught her loads! :evillaugh: mostly bad stuff but hey
but he does have to put her in her place every now and again
-
Charlie does the same
I think it's more of a comfort thing, he does it when he's sleepy and during the night to get back to sleep
-
yeppo thats when jasper does it too.
was quite alarmed though when she did it on my belly bar this morning :evillaugh:

our Pwt used to do this with the bedsheets (shes at the bridge now unfortunately) but after she'd have a suck on the bedsheets she was contented and happy,(this went on until she was about 3 or 4 but she snapped out of it as quick as she started it.

My mothers siamese cat did it until the day she died. You always knew Natasha had been in the bedroom as any ribbons or lace were saturated and slightly chewed. When on your lap she would fasten onto any soft dangly bit and suckle and knead. Often she got to the point where she was dribbling. We always assumed it was because she had been taken from her mother too young (5 weeks - to our eternal shame, but she was our first cat and we did not know any better then). She was 18 when she died.
