Please take a moment to read it. It is about a new bill this lady is trying to bring in to make spaying and neutering mandatory.

Fantastic idea.
It'd be soooo hard to do here but that is the ONLY thing that will start to bring down the vast overpopulation of cats in the UK... it'd be brilliant.

I think it's a great idea in principle, but if it's the bill I think it is (that someone posted about on another forum) it is being fought by reputable breeders because the conditions it lays down make it impossible to breed properly and only those who breed their cats into the ground could comply with it. I also wonder how well it could be implemented - I'm sure a lot of people would just not bother. If they dont' bother now I doubt making it law would get them to bother unless it was very rigorously enforced and most people not complying did get found out and fined.
