Had a another call from the guy in the scrapyard telling me about a cat that lived next door above the market place. He said they were moving and wanted the cat rehoming, he also added on that the cat had a bad ear. I called down there during work to take a look and the poor cats ear looks ready to pop   I had a couple of conflicting stories off the owner.........the lad said they'd had her about 8 months, she just turned up and as far as he knows never been spayed. His mum when I saw her said they'd only had her about a month and her ear only came up yesterday, lying little :censored: :censored: Anyway, picked her up after work, she's approx 4 year old or so they've told me, she's been to see Sean and she has a Haematoma. He said her ear has been like that for a while and it deffo needs lancing and stitching. She also has a swelling on her forehead which doesn't seem right but Sean said it could all be related to her ear problems   She's had an antibiotic jab and an anti inflammatory and she's booked in for Monday to have her ear done, spaying if needed, microchipping and jabs. Poor little babe is absolutely petrified, she was hiding under the bed when I went to collect her and the lad was throwing stuff at her to get her to come out :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored:

Really don't know what to say Dawn. Thank God you exist.
-
I'm just worried about it popping      I've told Sean if it does, I will throttle him :evillaugh: She must be in some pain with it though, some peeps really knock me sick........I should have give them a piece of my mind but I really couldn't be :censored: , people like that never learn anyway and I'm just glad that I've got her away from there. I'll take some piccies later when she's calmed down a bit.
-
Poor little devil :'(
I think this just shows how the small rescues.................and the larger ones................are needed and that when the diaries go on sale , we know that the money will be going to a good cause ;D
-
Dawn you are such a lifesaver for these cats,LITERALLY,without people like you in this world the world would be evil beyond belief :'(
-
You are a big :wish: Dawn. I'm sure when she knows nobody is going to throw things at her any more, she will calm down. People like that need shooting and people like you make the world a better place.

Dawn she is a beauty - its a black cat thing and I'm sure with a lot of your TLC she will come around and hopefully heal as well
Does she have a name - she looks like a Raven to me black, glossy and beautiful
Hope all goes well tomorrow
-
I have read about those ear things but never seen one before. She is lovely and hope the vet will sort her out cos if its painful that maybe another reason that she hates everybody.
-
What a lovely face she has. How could anyone treat her so cruelly? Good job you're in the world to save her and others. Horrible people!
-
She lovely Dawn - I love black cats (without starting another debate)
Hope she feels better when her ear is sorted.

Her name is Meg, she seemed a lot happier last night but hopefully once her ear is sorted, she will feel tonnes better. Sean said they do tend to bleed heavily and he's not seen one as bad as hers but once it's drained, cleaned and stitched she shouldn't have any worries. I'm a bit concerned about the swelling on her forehead, although Sean said it could be to do with her ear, I'm not so sure but he can have a proper look tomorrow whilst she's under.
-
OMG!!!! cant believe the size of that swelling......grr! and how would they know her approx age? Well another babe saved Dawn :Luv:
-
I'm going to get Sean to give me a rough idea on her age........I was talking to the scrapyard guys today and they said they had a black kitten disappeared about 12 months ago so they're wondering if she came from there.
-
Maybe as she really dosnt look 4 :)
-
I am wondering myself now as she's extremely frightened so could possible be an ex feral.......I know a lot of them are scared when they come in, but she was petrified at the flat even but then again, I'm not surprised really with the owners she ended up with :censored: :censored:
-
The gorgeous Meg has had her ear done and Sean said it was criminal what they had put that cat through. He said she'd been like that at least 2 weeks and the swelling on her head is due to the ear being filled to maximum and nowhere for the fluid to go. Her ear was riddled with infection as well and it will probably take weeks to heal. He said it was absolutely gross   She was already spayed so luckily she didn't have to have that done on top, and she's back in on Thursday morning for a checkup.
-
lucky cat! looks really nasty. Peanut has had this twice this year already from fighting . Last time I knew what to expect and cleaned his wounds with hibiscrub but there was one tiny hole in the middle of his inner ear and he was wriggling so much . Guess you know what happened! All the washed woulnds were fine and the one I left blew up like a baloon.
He looks terrified poor mite His pupils are as big as saucers .
well done Dawn

:censored: :censored: :censored: they are, makes me so mad they must have seen that she was in pain, my Thomas had one when we took him in and an abcess on his eye all related apparently. Its a very painful thing for them to have I hope those :censored: :censored: drop something really heavy on their :censored: head and feet today
As Mark said thank go for people like you and all the rescuers.
Get well soon little Meg
xx

Poor Meg.....we all know what an ear infection feels like :(
-
From the look in her eyes, especially in the bottom pic, I thinks she's saying "I want to trust you but I'm scared."
When she's been with you for a while, her ear is less painful, and she learns she doesn't have things thrown at her, she'll be a loving cat imo.
Poor Meg!
-
She seems a lot calmer today and she's had a good feed, she won't be ready for rehoming for a few weeks and hopefully in that time, she'll learn not all humans are monsters. Sean said it upset him yesterday when he was doing the op, vets must see some awful things and they wouldn't be human if sometimes, animal cruelty didn't get to them. Whilst she's here, she'll get nothing but love and I'm sure I'll see a differance in her in a few days ;)
-
Just caught up with this thread, aww poor little sausage, how could they leave her in that state? :censored: :censored:
At least she is cared for now; what a beauty! :catluv:

Just caught up with this thread again after a few days navel gazing... I really filled up on hearing Meg's stunning progress already. Well done Dawn. You must feel so pleased :)
-
Would be nice to see new pics of her ppplllleeeeeaaaasssseeee! ;D

Just a quick update on the gorgeous Meg :Luv: She is extremely loving and loves to give headbutts and nose rubs, nuzzles your ears and is a definite cuddlebum. She's not over keen on other cats so ideally she needs a home on her own where she will get all the love and attention she deserves. She isn't frightened at all and is very outgoing which is nice to see after the initial first day of seeing her where she was petrified >:( Her ear is healing up absolutely fine and she's had no trouble with it since she's had the op.
Here's a couple of pics taken tonight of her :Luv: :Luv:

-
Hi Meg. So glad you are able to show your true nature now. You are a very beautiful young girl. :catluv:
Don't worry about the ear looking a little different. I've got a torn ear too and I'm all black. People say it gives me character.
