Post by: Sam (Fussy_Furball) on May 28, 2007, 14:41:18 PM
I came across this article and thought it was very interesting and may be useful for anyone with a "special needs" kitty.

The article covers:

    * Three Legged Cats/Amputees
    * Two Legged Cats (Unilateral Double Amputees, Diagonal Double Amputees)
    * Hind Limb Paralysis (and Hind Limb Double Amputees)
    * Blind Cats and  Moving House With a Blind Cat
    * Deaf Cats
    * Deaf-Blind Cats
    * Spastic (Cerebellar Hypoplasia) Cats
    * Twisty (Radial Hypoplasia) Cats (& Fore-Limb Double Amputees)
    * Simple Ramp Design and Simple Steps
    * How Cats Adapt
    * Summary and Further Resources

Thank you Sam. I wish I knew if Swampy was totally deaf in both ears as would consider the hearing aid for him if I thought it would work and it was not invasive. They already think I love him too much down the vets so that would just be further 'proof'. We used to play such a lot of games and he used to purr at special songs. I do recognise some of the symptoms mentioned, such as increased insecurity.
