Does anyone know if the childrens in ear thermometers that take the temperature in a few seconds work on cats?

I dont know bout that one but it may cause more bad than good as theyr pretty small x

Just wondered as Miss Boopy really objects to having her temp done the normal way (vet really struggled to get her temp as she completely closed her muscle so vet couldn't get an accurate reading) so just wondered as if the kids ones work then I could check her temp at home. Vet said she'd never known a cat put up as much of a fight against it as my little Boopette lol.

i dont know lottie so googled it, first thing that came up was something saying they are NOT accurate in cats and this was the second thing so have a look into it..i obviously dont know if its accurate or not.

Ok thanks, it's just very stressful for everyone involved with her fighting so much against having the thermometer put there each week. I said to the VN it's a shame she hasn't got one of those microchips that takes her temp as well!

got to admit i had a bit of a job holding cody for rectal temp. He wriggled no matter which way i held him.

Miss Boopy completely closed her internal sphincter apparently so they couldn't get it in so the vet said her temp. could have been even higher than the reading she got from putting it in a tiny bit.

When I saw the pet thermometers advertised I was going to get some for the fosterer's, however I had a word with our vets and they said that they were not accurate enought. I must say Lynn the one shown on that site is very cheap, the ones I saw were almost £100 each.
