Title: Cat Trees - slim but not short
Post by: NikNakNoo on December 14, 2014, 12:50:49 PM
Hi all

I am trying to find a narrow slim cat tree that isn't short but not over 220cm and also doesn't cost the earth. Looking to spend £50 max!! Any ideas?

Nic :)

My cats have this one and love it - it's long enough that even Bugsy who is a tall cat - Russian Blue size - can go full stretch. Will probably have to replace soon, it's looking decidedly tired.

In a similar vien, I'm looking for some replacement legs for our tree. The ones sold in the Purrs shop are the wrong size fittings  :(

Looks like I either failed to post the link or it got modded out wot with spam filter and all? It's from Pets at Home anyway, about 22 quids: tall, thin scratching post.

We got this one about 2 years ago maybe longer, and it is still looking pretty good despite plenty of use! A little more than you wanted to pay, but I would definitely look on zooplus.

The argos one we got before that lasted about a year and looked scruffy really quick.

I think the lighter colours are much better, cos the sisal is always flaking off and it shows up much more on the darker colours  :shify:

We already have a tree but we want to get a tall thin one so it takes up less room then the one we already have.

Just had a look at assembly instructions. You could do away with the baseplate and first scratcher which would mean the den would become the baseplate and the height would be 195/200 - 215/220 and you would have a spare scratcher. Just a thought

I have my eye on this one

http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/cats/scratching_posts/large/large_cat_trees_height_180_cm_over_/284676

I found a fab one a couple of weeks ago when I was browsing but didnt' save the link.  It was either the one above or a similar one.

I'm looking for a slim but tall tree to replace the broken one I currently have as I want to put up some shelves next to it to create a cat play area

Do not do away with the baseplate - it's the baseplate which give the ceiling high poets the stability

I bought one of these about 2.5 years ago it looks as good today as it did when I bought it, it was too tall so I only have one flat surface and the 2 hammocks but would never think of not using the base.

Zooplus have a interesting new scratching post which is tall and slim. Just the sort of thing I'd get for my two if I didn't already have one. http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/cats/scratching_posts/new_products/ceiling/476426
