Title: HALO Microchip scanner
Post by: sheilarose on November 18, 2014, 20:38:12 PM
HALO Microchip scanner

This little beauty is a godsend for rescuers. Halo microchip scanners act just like the one at the vet. Pass it over the animal and lo! if there's a chip, there's a beep! Not only that but it tells you the microchip number so you can identify which company supplied the chip and if there is a "lost" report against the pet.

Of course unless you have a vet/rescue access code you wont be eligible to find out who the owner is, but once you know there's a chip you're half way to getting that pet back to his or her owner!  :cheer:

Comes with CD ROM which provides full download of the HALO database which holds any registered loss reports and should be updated before each session  (not compatible for computers without disk drive, therefore, unless you have a friend with one  ;) ) Even without regular updates the scanner will detect pretty much any brand of microchip and give you the number to refer on to your vet.

Battery free - charges from USB cable.
