Title: A Tall Tail???
Post by: Kelly on May 23, 2007, 21:00:39 PM
Just seen an ad on freecycle offering a 10 month old. It says that he has a broken tail but the vet has said it will heal on its own - is this correct? I don't know much about tails and instantly thought this had been said just to 'get rid' as quickly as possible

i would imagine they would yes, as their tail isn't a bone as such. One of my childhood cats forever had kinks in her tail, as the dog didn't always like her leaving him, so put his paw on her tail to stop her!!

My gorgeous boy Sox (RIP) had broken  his tail and it healed OK ... it was a bit lumpy and kinky but still worked fine.  I think some tail breaks lead to amputation but many will heal OK.
