Our two would have some sort of breakdown if I tried this...

Mine too Jezebel!
Shame, because Cleo would benefit from a good hoovering :evillaugh:

I've had both dogs and cats that have liked vacuuming, but the machines have had altering suction settings thus you could turn it right down. My current monster is way to strong to even try using for fur massage.
-
We now have a vacuum that you can turn suction power right down. Don't think I'll try it though as wouldn't want to encourage any of them to play with it when it's on full power which is most of the time.
Bob is completely at ease with it and I'm sure I could vacuum him no bother but Dinah is quite a different story and completely freaks out so we have to do a Dinah check before vacuuming a room. The others are somewhere in between.
Lovely videos mostly altho some are a bit rough with their puds :-:

:evillaugh: :evillaugh: We had a dog who used to love to be hoovered, ut I would never get away with it with a cat - any of our cats. They've all hated hoovers. I love the one who's licking at the air then puts his face to the tube. His face is priceless. God, dontcha just love cats? :Luv:

I fostered Snowball (CCG) when she had her two kittens - all white - and became suspicious when one of the kittens liked to sit on the vacuum while I cleaned their room, sure enough he was deaf. I tested it by ringing a metal bell right behind him and he didn't show any reaction. Luckily the new owners still wanted him and he went, with his sister to a good forever home. One of my own cats, Pepper, had a very serious accident at 9 months old (we believe someone kicked him and destroyed his hip joint) and couldn't clean himself properly so we vacuumed him as he lay on the sofa - he loved it and so we did it for the rest of his life.

Lovely story/ies Bren!
I don't think either of mine are particularly scared of the hoovie (I wouldn't know, my cleaner uses it not me! :briggin: ) but I can't imagine them tolerating it getting too close.
-
Evie didnt mind the hoover when she first arrived, but Denzel and Dexter have always hated it and scarper as soon as it comes out!!!
Now Evie has started to copy them
So thats my reason for not hoovering very often........

Wish I could hoover my two-so much moulted hair about today :)

I think it's Bosch who advertise a supremely quiet hoover - they use a Tiger as a demonstration. The Tiger snoozes, and the hooverer Boschs around the Tiger. Dunno what it's like for suction mind. The hoover, not the tiger.

You mean this one Sue:

Dear departed Uncle M liked the vax and used to follow it around purring when I vacuumed the house. I think it was because he was very hard of hearing in his latter years and the vax was one of the few things he could hear (bless him :Luv:).
The Munchkin thinks the Dyson is the Devil's Instrument. :evillaugh:
