Title: Fred cat keeps getting what looks like cramp!

Has anyone else experienced his? Occasionally it looks like one of his legs has cramp, it could be either front or back, and he either limps about for a bit or falls over! If you give it a rub, it loosens and he's fine again. He's perfectly ok in himself, a little too thin due to his over active thyroid, but he's eating well, playing etc etc. any help would be much appreciated. He will be going to the vet when mum is back form holiday to take him ( he has extreme car phobia so needs her with him!)

how old is he could it be a bit of arthritis? (nice to see you by the way!!)

I had a bit of a google as wondering if it could be associated with thyroid condition?  I can't find anything feline related but have found a few human thyroid references to cramps being associated with HypoT.  A long shot but when was Fred last blood tested?

So it could be directly related.....looks like some extra calcium may not be a bad idea too. The problem we have always had is he is a nightmare to pill, even the vet can't do it! We hide it in scraps of ham  chicken or cheese and had feed hi it, but he is extremely clever and we have found little yellow pills hidden all over the house! We think he hides them in his cheek and spits them out when were not looking!

There should be a goodly amount of calcium in cat milk.

you know when i have ahd elderly cats when they start to get arthritis they sometimes do that its very common but obviously not if he#s young

He's certainly not a youngster......we don't know his exact age as he adopted us......but he is at least 13.
