what does it mean if a cat his holding his ears down
sort of to the side
????? :scared: :scared:
-
Are they flattened back against his head? This is a sign of aggression or fear. I've never heard of a cat flattening them to the side, unless this is the way your cat's ears naturally go when he means to flatten them back.
-
he is holding them down
the only way i can desscribe it to u is they are in a position where they look like wings instead of ears lol
i was thinking could it be that his ears hurt or something ?
although he did have a 5 day course of ear drops as did all my cats
yet they are still scratching them >:(
-
his ears or ear is sore or he has something in them ie drops/liquid of some type.
-
It is usually fear or aggression. Is there a fair amount of noise because of the redecorating? Maybe he's just feeling unsettled.
-
Might be a good idea to take him to the vet again, just in case he has mites or something. But as a behavioural display, this usually means fear or aggression.

he has hid all day today till the decoraters left , he isnt normally shy when we have people in though , he has just eat some food now he has gone rushing up to my oh to greet him :Luv:
ill ring the vet in the morning i think just to be on the safe side

Do you mean like the second pic down on the left?

If so he's probably just a bit fearful as a result of the decorators having been in - unfamiliar smells etc.
-
sorry i thought from your description of the ears down and slightly tilted to the side they might be uncomfy or sore esp given he's just finished a course of ear drops in the past couple of days.
-
Thats the one I thought Lisa meant. I think they do it when they are stalking a bird (or a foot :evillaugh: )
