This is something Max has always done, but as I'm a first time slave, I have no idea if all puds do this .......... every time I stroke him, give him a tummy tickle, kiss, whatever, he will always lick clean that area straight away, especially if he's sitting down relaxing and we're having cuddles.
Do all cats do this so often, and should I be paranoid that he so clearly wants to ge my scent off him
Just curious really ;)

Cheese is a bit like this! its mildly offending (especially coming from a cat with such smelly breath, tsk!) but also a bit cute! :wow:
And on the not so clean front, Doc just got sick on the living room floor    excellent.

None of my cats have ever done that :scared: Maybe Max is just very particular with his personal hygiene :evillaugh: You should be grateful though, Riley has a habit of kissing me on my lips with his lips/wet nose, I thought it was rather cute uintil I saw him giving Lucas' bits a good going over

 Bless little Riley

none of my cats have ever done this ,
maybe he is just a really clean boy who likes to keep his self all nice n clean ;D

cant say for sure if codster does it just after ive stroked him but when we cuddle up in an evening and my hand is on him he's more often than not engrossed in a licking frenzy of himself and me.

This is normal behaviour.
What he's doing involves several aspects:
he's 'tasting' your scent,
he's mixing your scent with his and creating the smell of home,
he's reasserting his own scent.
Most cats do this. You've also ruffled his fur and he's putting it back into place.
Don't worry, he doesn't think you're dirty. He's just reassuring himself.
