I just got home from a week in Malta to find out my 4 year old cat, Alfie got hit by a car and was killed. My parents were looking after him and Frankie. I'm devastated :'(. I miss him so much and just want to be with Frankie all the time. I can't tell what Frankie thinks. He is far more focal than normal and is even by his standards cuddly and needy. But I suspect he is liking the extra attention. They have always been together and were from the same litter.
I had even in Malta, found a couple of little models that looked like the two of them so bought them. Now I can't even face unpacking them and putting them out.

I'm so sorry to hear it, it really is the hardest way to lose them I think

Oh sweetheart. Am so very very sorry. We lost our Ross last Thursday in similar circumstances. My heart goes out to you. What an awful thing to return home to.
Rest in peace Alfie. Your Mum is missing you so much.
(Pointless I know, but I so wish I could change this for you, and make everything right again. It's such a devastating feeling  )

So sorry to hear about Alfie

:( :( What an awful thing to come home to.
RIP Alfie.
-
How awful for you to come home to this
-
Thanks everyone. The thing that feels the most strange at the moment is when Alfie would have normally done a certain behaviour which Frankie doesn't do. So when I opened the food pouch, Alfie always used to climb along my arm to get to it. I found myself looking at Frankie wondering why there was no cat on my arm before remembering. :'(
I'm getting Alfie cremated and I'll find a spot in the garden to bury him.
So sorry to hear about Ross as well.

Just awful news, I'm so terribly sorry to hear about Alfie. :'(
RIP little boy. xx

Just droppping by to offer you a hug this morning MiddleEarth.  We all know how painful these days are. We see them everywhere, and yet they're nowhere, and that loss feels unbearable. Thinking of you.
-
Thanks for all the hugs. I'm feeling calmer today though still miss him. Frankie brought me 7 mice to chear me up.
-
Of course you will, hun. It will take a long time for that ache to become bearable.
Seven mice? Did I read aright? SEVEN mice? My word - he loves you very very much. Well done Frankie.
-
Yes, you did read that right. Seven in one day! I locked him in two hours earlier than nornal before before he brought any more.
-
Bless his paws.
We had a cat who used to catch them in twos - one for him and one for his Big Bruvver. Never in sevens though. I am quietly impressed. :-:

Well a couple of weeks on and it is interesting to see how Frankie is dealing with it. He started off VERY noisy, now he is quiet and subdued. Even on nice sunny days he is choosing to stay in his bed or on someone's lap. So I think he is feeling sad. On Sunday I had to escort him into the garden and stay with him.
I've still not managed to unpack the little models that looked like them.
-
Aww, poor Frankie. He's obviously missing his friend :( :(
-
It's a time of adjustment for both of you. Sending a gentle ear rub for Frankie.

Oh its so sad Frankie is still pineing for Alfie,I hope things improve soon for you and Frankie god bless :'(
