Title: Using plant as litter box
Post by: Arcanegirl on August 07, 2013, 11:14:53 AM
Hello :)
We have a large plant in our living room and Bane our male cat has been using it to pee and poo in. Its not regular, his litter box is always kept clean so seems to be an occasional thing.
Short of getting rid of the plant (which was an anniversary gift so rather not!) Is there any way to deter him form going in the plant pot?

could you put large pebbles or something in the pot?

Maybe an idea, would also deter my son from trying to get to the soil and eat it

Couldn't you move it outside?

If the pebbles don't work, try putting some orange peel on top of the soil. Cats are not supposed to like the smell.

The large pebbles works for me, Wordy sees new soil as something to have a poo in!!
