Title: WARNING - LILY POLLEN POISONOUS TO CATS
Post by: Purdy Bear on July 13, 2013, 11:20:58 AM
I'm listening to Classic FM  with Alan Titchmarsh as the presenter.  He has just said that Lilly pollen is poisonous to cats.  They would get it on their coat and then lick it off.

One thing is if you must have a Lilly remove the pollen stamen anyway as it's horrendous to get off clothes and marks everything orange.  I personally wouldn't risk it.

Yup - lillies are poisonous and all parts too, not just the pollen.  I think it causes kidney problems?  or is it respiratory probs?  anyway, it's not just poisonous in the might upset their stomach a bit way, but can kill.  I love lillies but I won't have any in the house and even though my boys don't go out, I won't have any outside either because I dont' want to poison neighbourhood cats.
