What's wrong??? ;(:(;(
-
It looks like her third eyelid is stuck .... had she just woken up? I would try bathing it very gently with a little bit of warm water on cotton wool. If it doesn't drop back down then she will need a vet visit in the morning. :hug
-
Ok will try now ty xx

It's looking a bit better. She's getting stressed tho bless her. Giving her some treats then gonna try again
-
How's this looking???
-
It's looking better .... having done a bit of reading I think she may still need a vet visit (just in case) .... it seems the 3rd eyelid stays up if cats are feeling a bit under the weather or possibly have a slight infection or are running a temperature. I would keep her indoors today, and let her rest and then get her in to the vet tomorrow.
-
Thanks. She's curled up on me snoozing now. I'm so worried about her. She's only 10 weeks old :'(
I will take her tomorrow x
Thanks for your help
-
Oh I didn't realise she was only a baby ..... in that case yes, she definitely needs to see the vet tomorrow. If she has picked up a virus this will cause the eyelid to stay visible. She may not want to eat but you must make sure she doesn't get dehydrated. Why do they always get poorly on a Sunday when it'll cost a fortune to take her to the vet. Try not to worry too much (yes I know that's easy to say).
-
Has she had her first vaccination yet? Has she been in contact with other cats? Now you've said she's only 10 weeks old I would worry about it being the start of cat flu (or a response to the vaccine if she has just had it) so if she's not been vaccinated recently I would be inclined to ring the vet today for advice at least, cat flu can get very serious very quickly especially in little ones.
Good luck, hope she is ok x x
-
Luckily she's on pet plan with pets at home. So that should cover it!
His is her eye bout 10min ago!
She was vaccinated last Monday. Not been anywhere or in contact with any other animals. Strictly house bound
-
It may be a response to the vaccine, then. If companion care in pah is your normal vet it is probably worth giving them a ring today, they are open as normal on Sundays with normal consultation fees for registered clients, although I suspect they may well be booked up now. They may be able to advise you over the phone though and book you in for tomorrow.
-
It looks far better now than the first pic. Why not call CC and ask there advice? That's where I go and they're pretty good at talking through things over the phone.
-
I called p@h vets and they're happy to see her tomorrow. They said carry on bathing it and if if gets worse before 4pm to belting her down. It's slowly receding and lookin much better now. She's snoozed most of the afternoon but she usually does so I'm not worried. She's eating fine too.
I'm wondering if she's caught it while grooming?
-
I'll probably see you there! Hope it continues to improve, if she seems ok otherwise I wouldn't worry too much. Best to get it checked out though.
-
Do you work at the chesterfield brnch lollycat? She's booked in for 14.45
-
No! I was just joking as I'll probably have to take my cat to our branch tomorrow ;D
-
Oh no why????
-
My cat has an infection in her nail bed. She went last week and had antibiotics so hopefully they'll work. let us know what the vet says and good luck to your kitty x
-
Oh bless her poor babe. Hope she's better soon. Thanks I will no doubt post tomorrow. Have put a little snippet in the cats bit from tippy. She still loves me bless her but I don't think she's too pleased at me coming at her with cotton wool every so often ;)
-
Awww poor babe, looks much better though, hope she's ok
-
Thanks Bee :)
Tbh it's totally receded but I'm going to ring tomorrow to see if nurse can have a quick look just to double make sure
-
I think that is best, just for peace of mind as she is so little :)
-
Definitely getting we checked. I'm not riskin any nasties!
I was a VN like 10yrs ago! You'd have thought id be calmer
-
Hi Hun .... how's little un today?
-
It's conjunctivitis! Her eye looks so sore :(
Vet was very good with her. Back again on Friday to check on her
Thank you for asking. She has web busy having a moan on cats blog ;)
-
Ahhh bless her glad you caught it early. Has the vet given you any ointment? My vet told me that it's worth having a tube of human eye ointment in the cupboard just in case! It is OK to use either Golden eye Ointment or Optrex infected eyes ointment (they are the same) on cats ;)
-
Yeah she needs metacam once a day and fusathalmic twice a day. She was so brave at the vets. She got chipped too bless her. I want to wrap her up and mother her to bits. I will thank you. He's given me a whole tube of fusathalmic so I'll keep whatever's left :)
-
Awe bless, wishing her better :Luv:
-
Thanks bee
Seems the initial advice has stopped it getting so much worse so thank you to you all
:thanks:
-
Bless her, glad she's being sorted. Don't save the rest of the ointment though, you can only keep it safely for a few weeks.
-
Ok lollycat thank you :)
Her eye is looking better his morning after 2 treatments. And she's definitely back to her naughty hyperactive self!!
-
So pleased she is doing well ;D
-
Thanks Gill. She's back Friday for a check up so hoping for the all clear! Her eye does look so much better today!
