Title: The end.
Post by: Huge on June 28, 2013, 18:33:15 PM
Well... the final chapter in Peggy's life is at a close.

The tumour was big enough for me to feel, she had no fight left in her. Her back legs had gone, she'd lost another substantial amount in the last 3 weeks (despite eating huge amounts) and had started to avoid moving (eventually weeing on the carpet). We decided enough was enough and to carry on wouldn't be fair.,.

I'm very sad, but I know it was for the best.

Bye bye old girl, I'm gonna miss you like crazy.

Oh Huge I'm so sorry to hear the sad news.  You must take comfort from knowing that however hard the decision you have done the kindest thing for Peggy

Please accept my sincere condolences.

Last night I only really cried when I read all the lovely messages my friends sent when I posted the news on Facebook.

Even though you're all mostly just "internet acquaintances", it means no less to me. Susan, that was a lovely picture.

I woke up terribly early this morning, thinking something happened, but not remembering. Of course I did when I went downstairs and I saw her empty bed.

Huge, I am so sorry.

The space left behind is always so disproportionate.  It hurts like hell.  Sending you my thoughts, and the gentlest of hugs.

Peggy, you were so special, and so loved.  Your memory won't fade, and you'll live on here and in our thoughts.

Am so very sorry for your loss and hope at some point that you will find some comfort that you were able to provide a last act of kindness in letting her go peacefully

The loss we all feel when losing a much loved feline friend is truly awful and I'm in tears for you this morning knowing well what it is like.

RIP Peggy sweetheart  :'(

I'm sorry she had to leave you Huge.

It's a credit to you that you made the right decision at the right time. This, however, does not prepare you for the enormous gap she leaves behind, her presence in your life has been a loyal constant that you will miss terribly. I'm sending you my heartfelt sympathies, she is out of pain and - thanks to you - in a better place now.

Rest in peace Peggy. xx

So sorry Huge, it must be so hard making such a decision

I dread to think about such a day when I would have to lose one of mine

Even though we are just 'internet acquaintances' its good to know other people understand how you feel

It was a hard decision. But I've had very few doubts it was right.

I played in a concert last night, and it hit me a bit when I got home. She ALWAYS came out of wherever she was sleeping to greet me.

I hope you'll stay with us Huge. You've a wealth of knowledge and wonderful warm humour, and one day you may wish to take another furry body into your home and your heart. Until that day we will be here to support you, whatever happens.  :grouphug:

Thirded

The hole always seems so big and it takes time to heal a bit but she will always be in your heart and she will guide you to the next fur body that needs cuddling

You are not being disloyal to your last cat by taking on another one in the future. They each have totally different personalities and the new cat has been given a home also.
