I took Kylie for her 6-monthly today.
She had her weight checked (from 7.05kg 6 months ago - 6.90 today ;D ) , heart & teeth checked. Milbemax tab, 4 free pouches of RC obesity wet food, vert asked about clapton and gave me a free syringe to try to get more fluid down him (he suggested adding glucose or sugar to get more cals)
The bill?
£5.41
(I still have some stronghold left as I had 6 month supplies for all 3 but sometimes leave it 5 or 6 weeks)

mark thats fab ;D ;D
i wish my vet bill yesterday was like that
-
Wow that's amazing! I get charged up to £25 just for their 6 monthly check ups!
That's fab the vet gave you some free pouches and things.

Makes a change - I've spent about £700 in the last year

I didn't get any stronghold so that is why it was so cheap. I expected him to charge me for the consultation though (I thought he was going to charge me for the syringe and obesity food too! :evillaugh: )

i had a good visit last week too, only cost £4.38 for 2 cats to be checked over, and that was just the cost of hte wormer. Yesterdays visit was just over £18 though, and last years bill was over £1200, this years total is about £300 so far. Good that he gave you the obesity food free, syringes normally are free, I tend to get about 6 in a go!!

Syringes are free but not needles, right? Humph! :tired: Glad your trip to the vet didn't prove too costly, Mark. :)
-
i was pretty lucky yesterday as my vet only charged me for 3 consultations and not 7
:evillaugh:
but the bill was still pretty big :(

I meant to ask you Lisa,
How do you get 7 cats to the vet in one go?
I only take 2 max at a time

ok so its not just me with vet bills then!! In 8 months Ive spent close to £1500 on one cat!!
-
That is cheap! I rarely go for little things like that or follow up appts so usually end up paying full consultation fee. Although tbh I've not been that many times other than annual vaccinations/health check (for the first 8 years I had Jaffa and Mosi that's about all I went for) so consultation fee included. I did pay out nearly £2000 for one visit with Magpie though!
-
Last year was expensive as I had lapsed with appts so they all had to have a "catch up" with 3 lots of stronghold, it cost about £250 for the 3 of them.

susanne-you and me both!!! maybe we can go and see the bank manager together for moral support!!!!!
